THE VOICE KIDS 2 HELPS MMK & RATED K DEFEAT RIVALS IN MEGA MANILA!

ABS-CBN seems to be able to get the most of The Voice Kids' popularity by placing it before the airtimes of MMK and Rated K! For two weeks now, MMK and Rated K were able to beat their tough rivals Magpakailanman and Kapuso Mo Jessica Sojo in Mega Manila.

MMK was able to beat Magpakailanman the second time this month with a 25% rating in Mega Manila as compared with the latter's 23.9%. Rated K was also able to outperform Kapuso Mo Jessica Sojo for the second time with a 21.9% vs 21.4% of KMJS. Previously both shows struggle to keep pace with the Kapuso rivals, rarely even reaching the 20% mark. But since the Voice Kids debut, the two shows ratings jumped significantly overtaking rivals in the viewer rich Mega Manila.

STARTALK VS BUZZ NG BAYAN, WHO HAS THE UPPER HAND?

The battle for dominance between Entertainment shows is just heating up as two of the industry's longest running talk shows now face each other every Sunday afternoon! GMA's Startalk, last January 26, 2014, has moved from Saturday to Sunday afternoon to challenge rival Talk show from the Kapamilya network.

The move from GMA saw little success as the first battle results were entirely against Startalk. Buzz ng Bayan crushed Startalk in Mega Manila and the National Urban last January 26, with Vhong's first interview posting a record breaking rating!

IS THE LEGAL WIFE REALLY NOT ATTRACTING ENOUGH ADVERTISERS?

ABS-CBN's newest primetime program, The Legal Wife, featuring the return of Kapamilya Primetime royalty, Ms. Angel Locsin, has sparked Buzz on social media as it was pitted with two of GMA's newest primetime offerings.

The Kapamilya series has earned remarkable attention from TV viewers as it bested rival programs, Carmela and Rhodora X in all survey areas both in Nielsen and Kantar Media Research. It was consistently a top trending topic on Twitter and one of the most shared and discussed subject on facebook. 

THE BIGGEST LOSER DRAWS POOR ATTENTION FROM TV VIEWERS!

The premiere of the second season of The Biggest Loser Pinoy edition draws mediocre attention from TV viewers as it fails to outrun rival Celebrity Bluff even in Kantar's National Ratings! However, on its regular airtime it was able to score good numbers as it wins over rival program from GMA-7.

But considering that Kantar's data oftentimes favor Kapamilya Programs (with integration of Rural Ratings, known bailiwick of ABS-CBN), The Biggest Loser's mediocre ratings suggest its reception among Urban viewers  is relatively poor. Advertisers are more concerned on Urban ratings as these reflect their target audiences.

AQUINO AND ABUNDA TONIGHT DARES TO CHALLENGE TRADITIONAL PRIMETIME!

The King and Queen of Talk tandem is back on national primetime television.

On the Twitter page of Kris Aquino's morning talk show, KrisTVofficial reveals new show with Boy Abunda called Aquino & Abunda Tonight. The new show of the Talk Royalties will premiere on February 10, 2014 on ABS-CBN.

HONESTO SOARS TO 35% MARK IN THE NATIONAL RATINGS!

ABS-CBN's formidable primetime line-up is getting stronger than ever with TV Ratings of some of programs soaring to as much as 35.1% according to Kantar Media. Leading the pack is the child-friendly themed drama, Honesto. 

According to data from Kantar Media last January 31 (Thursday ), the timely drama series that shares the value of honesty and kindness scored almost 20 percentage points higher than its rival program in GMA “Adarna” which only got 15.2%.

AS RATINGS AND AD SALES FALL, GMA7 TO INTRODUCE MOVIES IN THE AFTERNOON BLOCK!

As GMA's usually strong afternoon block faces stiffer competition from ABS-CBN, the Kapuso Network brings back local movies in the afternoon viewing. GMA7 will introduce recycled movies in its afternoon block this month in a bid to regain strength as Kapamilya Programs Galema and Princess Hours outraced Kapuso counterparts in Mega Manila. ABS-CBN and TV5 also reserves a slot for movies in the afternoon via Kapamilya Blockbuster and Sine Singko. Will this gamble yield desirable results? TV Partrol News anchors Ted Failon and Korina Sanchez are facing new controversies over their comments regarding the Super Typhoon Yolanda. In the past week, Korina Sanchez has been lambasted with criticisms against her comment to a CNN News reporter. Now recently, co-News anchor Ted Failon also found himself in a similar situation after his reckless comments declaring PAGASA personnel as ignorant of "storm surges" after a PAGASA employee died from the Super Typhoon while on duty. Noli De Castro is also not spared as his arrogance and palpable bias opinion continue to irritate viewers who only wish for plain less opinionated stories.

SHOWTIME ECLIPSES EAT BULAGA IN APRIL!

MANILA – ABS-CBN Corporation continued to pull away from its rivals as it dominated TV viewing across urban and rural homes nationwide in April, boosted by the performance of its noontime show "It's Showtime."

With its strong line-up of shows, the Kapamilya network garnered an average total day audience share of 42% or 12 points higher than GMA’s 30%, based on the data provided by Kantar Media.

ABS-CBN also maintained its leadership in the primetime block from 6 p.m. to 12 midnight, with an average national audience share of 46% compared to GMA’s 29%, and TV5’s 10%.

PARTY PILIPINAS FACES PROBATION FOR 6 MOS, MTRCB

GMA-7’s Sunday noontime musical-variety show Party Pilipinas will be on probation for six months over a “sexually-charged scenes” in a recent episode.

In a statement released on its official Twitter account, the Movie Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) also ordered the program to issue a public apology during its live airing on Sunday, February 10.

VIC SOTTO NOT WORRIED WITH THE RETURN OF WILLIE IN NOONTIME!

In an interview with PEP.ph , Vic Sotto said that he is not worried even though Willie is slated to return to the noontime slot.

SOCO'S RATINGS BOOMS IN ITS NEW TIME SLOT!

Philippines - ABS-CBN’s premier crime investigation program SOCO: Scene of the Crime Operatives anchored by Gus Abelgas (photo) debuted strongly on its new, earlier timeslot as it succeeded as one of the most-watched TV programs last weekend.

SOCO scored a national TV rating of 13.6 percent against its rival program Wish Ko Lang with only 9.2 percent last July 14, based on Kantar Media’s data that covers urban and rural areas across the country. It also ranked ninth in the overall top programs with its episode that featured a religious sect founded and headed by a brutal and manipulative leader who punished and even raped his followers.

MMK'S MANIKA EPISODE SCORES A STUNNING 40% RATING NATIONWIDE!

The much talked about ‘Manika’ episode starred by Kapamilya teen star Jane Oineza and highly acclaimed actress Angel Aquino of “Maalaala Mo Kaya” broke barriers last Saturday (June 30) as it ranked no. 1 in the top overall TV weekend programs with its 40% national TV rating.Based on the data of Kantar Media, the SPG-rated “MMK” episode garnered the highest national TV rating among all other shows last Saturday and Sunday (July 1). Its rival show in GMA, “Kapuso Movie Festival” only got 15.2%.
