ABS-CBN EXPECTS TO EARN UP TO P2 BILLION IN 2014 FROM STAR CINEMA'S STRONG BUSINESS!

MANILA, Philippines - ABS-CBN Corp. has set a profit target of P1.8 billion to P2 billion for this year, as the broadcasting giant expands to digital TV, mobile phone business and theme parks.

ABS-CBN says profit will beat analysts' expectations in part because of strong movie revenue, saying Star Cinema gave it a very strong January.

This year's profit guidance is steady from last year's P2 billion, which ABS-CBN group chief finance officer Ron Valdueza says would beat analyst estimates.

On Monday, ABS-CBN listed on the Philippine Dealing and Exchange Corp. P6 billion worth of retail bonds it issued two weeks ago.

BOY PICK-UP: THE MOVIE FLOPS IN THE BIG SCREEN!

Dapat nung kasagsagan at kasikatan daw ng flip top-inspired battle of words using cheesy pick-up lines ek-ek nila ito ni-release.

THE ROAD FLOPS IN US BOX OFFICE WITH ONLY P2.6 MILLION SALES!

GMA Films' much hyped horror movie, THE ROAD, which debuted in 50 US cinemas has failed to lured interest from  American viewers as it only raked P2.6 million or $61,200 according to the international tabulator BOX OFFICE MOJO. Although the Film allegedly recieved positive reviews from international critics as claimed by GMA, it has somehow failed to appeal even to almost a million Filipino citizens residing in US and   Canada. Is the hype for the said movie  just  media frenzy?

GMA NEWS BINATIKOS ANG "ENTENG NG INA MO!"

"Enteng ng Ina Mo" (MZ, Octoarts Films, and APT Entertainment) is just too much, an excess, that it is not anymore amusing but simply toxic to the mind and spirit. That this movie is the "second best" in the Metro Manila Film Festival this year is a big riddle for me. I watched "Manila Kingpin," the grand winner, and I cannot fathom the distance between the best and the second best. It is a wide—as wide a universe maybe—and dark laughing space.

The cast alone is star-charged with Panday himself, Rep. Lucy Torres, Marian Rivera, Iza Calzado, Lorna Tolentino, Eddie Garcia, and Phillip Salvador.

“This is the biggest movie I’ve ever made!” Sen. Revilla said during a press visit on the set of the movie in Pansol, Laguna. The movie is his co-production with GMA-7.
