ALDEN'S TALENT FEE NOW 4X THE TF OF VICE GANDA!

With the surge of Alden's popularity courtesy of the ALDUB phenomenon, Alden Richards suddenly becomes one of the  highest paid celebrity in Philippine entertainment. In an article by the Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP), an entertainment website jointly owned by GMA Network and Yes Magazine, it was revealed that Alden's services to perform in Araneta will cost north of P10 million! The amount according to Joed Serrano was 4X the talent fee of Vice Ganda when the same producer hosted the comedian's concert.

ABS-CBN NEWS SORRY FOR THE FLESH-EATING DISEASE REPORT!

MANILA, Philippines - Saying it had no intention to sow mass hysteria, ABS-CBN has apologized for reports that appear to have sensationalized two common cases of skin disease as an outbreak of some mysterious 'flesh-eating disease'.

In a statement, ABS-CBN said it "apologizes for the unintended fear and panic caused by its report on the cases of skin diseases in two towns in Pangasinan."

ABS-CBN EXPECTS TO EARN UP TO P2 BILLION IN 2014 FROM STAR CINEMA'S STRONG BUSINESS!

MANILA, Philippines - ABS-CBN Corp. has set a profit target of P1.8 billion to P2 billion for this year, as the broadcasting giant expands to digital TV, mobile phone business and theme parks.

ABS-CBN says profit will beat analysts' expectations in part because of strong movie revenue, saying Star Cinema gave it a very strong January.

This year's profit guidance is steady from last year's P2 billion, which ABS-CBN group chief finance officer Ron Valdueza says would beat analyst estimates.

On Monday, ABS-CBN listed on the Philippine Dealing and Exchange Corp. P6 billion worth of retail bonds it issued two weeks ago.

ABS-CBN chairman Gabby Lopez claimed that the company is probably three years ahead of competition in switching to digital.

"We placed our bets early on, having made investments in this standard. We are probably three years ahead of everybody else in terms of rolling out digital TV. This should give us first mover advantage as the country transitions from analog to digital. We are now ready to expand our free-to-air channel offerings to an additional five channels from two channels currently once the implementing rules and regulations are released," Lopez said.

TV5'S LABOR UNION FILES NOTICE OF STRIKE WITH DOLE!

TV5's rank-and-file union has filed a Notice of Strike with the Department of Labor and Employment, following the union's declaration of a deadlock in its collective bargaining agreement (CBA) with TV5 management last month.

TV5 and the Associated Broadcasting Company Employees Union (ABCEU) could not come to terms on how (or whether) to tackle "non-economic" items on the third year of a prevailing 5-year CBA, both sides acknowledged.

TV5 AND SMART JOINS FORCES TO RIVAL ABS-CBN MOBILE!

MANILA - As rivals roll out their convergence tack, TV5 and Smart Communications Inc plan to launch their mobile platform next year.

On the sidelines of the Mobile Festival 2013, TV5 president Emmanuel C. Lorenzana today said the company would use mobile phones to expand its advertising footprint. 

"We want to enhance the whole viewing experience. Basically we're using mobile capability to actually make people enjoy the ads because it's a holistic experience," Lorenzana told reporters.

TV Partrol News anchors Ted Failon and Korina Sanchez are facing new controversies over their comments regarding the Super Typhoon Yolanda. In the past week, Korina Sanchez has been lambasted with criticisms against her comment to a CNN News reporter. Now recently, co-News anchor Ted Failon also found himself in a similar situation after his reckless comments declaring PAGASA personnel as ignorant of "storm surges" after a PAGASA employee died from the Super Typhoon while on duty. Noli De Castro is also not spared as his arrogance and palpable bias opinion continue to irritate viewers who only wish for plain less opinionated stories.

GMA NETWORK ADMITS POOR RATINGS DRAGGED DOWN EARNINGS IN THE THIRD QUARTER!

GMA Network Inc. is unlikely to achieve its earnings goal for the year due to poor ratings and weak advertising sales.

The broadcasting company said its net income in the third quarter dropped by 38 percent to P353 million from last year's P573 million. Earnings in the first nine months of P1.488 billion likewise were down six percent from P1.59 billion in 2012.

ABS-CBN TO TEAM UP WITH KOREA'S BIGGEST MEDIA GROUP FOR A NEW CHANNEL!

MANILA, Philippines - ABS-CBN Corp., the country's leading information and entertainment multimedia conglomerate, is teaming up with South Korean conglomerate CJ Group for a new TV home shopping venture.

In a disclosure to the stock exchange, ABS-CBN said it is investing at least P200 million in a joint venture with CJ O Shopping, one of the world's largest home shopping companies.


"The joint venture, A CJ O Shopping Corp., combines the strength of the two industry giants to empower Filipinos with information about reliable and world-class products that they can obtain through time-saving purchasing process," ABS-CBN said.

At dahil wala raw siyang ganung kalaking budget, hindi raw ito nag-attempt na kunin ang Kapamilya actor.

During a live interview with “TV Patrol,” an emotional Aquino told anchor Ted Failon that she must do what’s best for her son, James "Bimby" Yap Jr., even if it means sacrificing her lucrative career.

MANILA, Philippines - President Benigno S. Aquino III signed into law a measure that will “revitalize” the operations of state-owned and -operated television station People’s Television Network, Inc. or PTV-4.

"I am happy to announce that President Aquino signed into law Republic Act 10390, an Act Revitalizing the People’s Television Network, on March 14," Communications Secretary Herminio Coloma, Jr. said in a Malacañang press conference on Wednesday, March 20.

The new charter for PTV-4 provides for a fresh capital infusion of P5 billion.

Out of this, P3 billion would be sourced from the General Appropriations Act in the next 3 years -- P1 billion every year.
