Publicly listed firm GMA Network experienced a 5% drop in airtime revenues to P2.707 billion for the first 3 months of 2012. This was despite claiming TV Ratings supremacy over close rivals ABS-CBN and TV5.

Channel 7, which accounted for 90 percent of total airtime revenues, fell 6% year-on-year to around P2.44 billion.
This has caused the company to incur a 27% decrease in profits to P388 million from P534 million netted a year earlier. This has been among the lowest profit level of GMA for the past 9 years which is largely attributed to the maturing market and stiffer competition from TV5.
Rival ABS-CBN Corp. reported a 4% increase in airtime revenue and a 1% increase in recurring net income, while TV 5 remained red.

GMA's consolidated revenues for the first three months also dipped by 4% to P3.002 billion from P3.138 billion.
Television and radio airtime revenues totaled P2.707 billion, while
revenues from subscriptions, licensing, and subsidiaries reached P295
million, up 8 percent.
Channel 11, carrying the country’s No. 1 news channel GMA News TV (News
TV) increased its revenues by 7 percent under the QTV format from a year
earlier. GMA Radio, meanwhile, maintained the same top line level in
the same comparable period.
GMA International
contributed P231 million to the top line, slightly higher than a year
earlier, even with the appreciation of the Philippine peso against the
US dollar, because of improved subscriber take up.
GMA chair and
chief executive Felipe L. Gozon noted however that the company is targeting P2.8
billion in net income for 2012, higher than the P1.7 billion net income
recorded last year.
“The bottomline to be about
P2.8 billion for 2012, higher than last year… The first quarter result,
kumbaga sa Filipino bumubuwelo o pumoposisyon pa tayo,”said Gozon.

1. they have pay their loan, which has been used to EXPAND THEIR BUSINESS.

corection yung 308 million na net income ng ABS ay dahil deducted doon ang mga taxes at ang bayad nila sa mga artista at expenses nila, di nila ginastu yung iba gross income sa digital soundstage tulad ng sinsabi ng mga iba jan, wag ilihis ang issue dito,, GMA parin ang most profitable tv network ,, GMA 388 milion abs 308 million, FYI matagal ng nangunguna sa kita ang GMA noong 2004 p!
