GMA NETWORK, Inc. on Monday said it bagged the highest national television ratings for the month of October, citing data from Nielsen TV Audience Measurement.
In a statement on Monday, the broadcasting giant said it had 35.3 national daily average share points, while rival network ABS-CBN Corp. had 29.5 points. GMA Network added TV5 was able to snag 16....8 share points.
"GMA [Network]’s strong win nationwide was most pronounced in the afternoon block, where it posted a double-digit advantage over its competitors this October," GMA Network said.
In Urban Luzon alone which comprises 77% of total television households nationwide, GMA Network said it had 18.9 share points during the month of October, more than ABS-CBN's 25 points and TV5's 17.8 points.

GMA Network's Nielsen TV Audience Measurement has a total sample size of 2,005 homes, the broadcasting giant said.

GMA CEO Atty. Gozon earlier reported that revenues in the 3rd quarter slowdown due to weak earnings from some prime time programs and set backs from ad spending of major advertisers. Last year GMA posted a 26% drop in profits year-on-year, and 30% decrease quarter-on-quarter, caused mainly by protests from Procter and Gamble and weak television ratings.
