Competition is good for televiewers.

Now to be fair, pagdating sa storyline parang wala nang masyado bago sa ABS CBN. Iyong nakita mo sa Pangako sa "yo, may hawig din sa It Might Be You. Sayang.

Come on. Look at the soaps of TV Globo network of Brazil. Their soaps often are exported to more than 60 countries worldwide kaya lang masyadong mahaba ang dialogue kada scene at may adult content pero maganda ang cinematography at realistic ang dialogue. Suki ang TV Globo network sa Emmys at Banff. ABS CBN is older than TV Globo. Maybe if it is not because of Marcos sequestration that interrupted the expansion of ABS CBN it could have been at par with TV Globo.

The figures have a parallel relationship with the movie gross sales as opposed to the figure given by AGB.

To comment Number 1: in terms of operation, mas maraming taon nagsahimpapawid ang GMA kesa sa ABS-CBN, kaya lang pagdating sa improvement, parang mas matagal na ang huli kesa sa una...

Neither of the two stations has ever demonstrated "quality" programming.

They, in terms of filmography and visual effects and the use of vibrant actors, suck major. How?

- Visual graphics/effects are low quality and far from realistic.
- The sound quality, with the inclusion of background "crickets(?)", is disgusting.
- No steady plot.
- Actors constantly recycled depending on love team popularity.
- No vibrant use of available camera angles.. always in few places. (Good use of camera can only be seen in the first episode usually)
- Mostly untalented acting, in that the actors are only good during tense arguements...
- In variety shows, (like ASAP and SOP) the performers are usually the same people... and old recycled songs.
- Local game shows, (like Wowowee and Eat Bulaga), there is poor transition between events, the events themselves are very poorly thought of and carried out, and the entertainment and excitement value is just plain poor.
- The variety of primetime shows.. is plain awful. The same shows are broadcasted 5x a week, an aspect of poor production value.

not all people think the way you think.

and besides, they cater to people who wants entertainment.

Hellooo. The market of TV networks is Philippines pinyahan. Pinyahan!!! Even the most capable productions will not push beyond what is practical for quality’s sake or else they will lose a lot of money. Philippine market for advertising is still small as compared with other rich countries’ market so we can’t expect our productions to match the quality of the best(there a lot of low quality also) of these countries’ media products.

We’ll if our telenovelas are very long it can be reedited/compressed for international release. Audio-visual aspects can be readjusted. Visual effects can be rerendered if that is still feasible(cost efficient). What can never be salvaged/redeemed is a bad story/plot.

So sana ang i-aim ng mga local productions are valuable plotlines with superb dialogue above all else. Go go go.
