Gwendolyn Ruais (Candidate No. 13) was crowned Miss World Philippines during the coronation held earlier tonight, September 18, at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC) in Pasay City.
The 21-year-old Filipino-French bested 24 other candidates representing different parts of the country.
Helen Nicolette Henson (No. 24) was named 1st Princess. Interestingly, Nicoeltte also finished 1st runner-up at last year's Binibining Pilipinas.

The other candidates who made it in the Top 12 are Elaine Kay Moll (No. 12), Rogelie Catacutan (No. 5), Erina Ann Lightholder (No. 25), Samantha Nerville Purvor (No. 1), Mercy Malaluan (No. 11), Charlotte Melissa Tyler (No. 7), and Loucelle de Jesus (No. 16).
Aside from winning the title Miss World Philippines, Gwendolyn was also awarded Best In Swimsuit.
As the winner of Miss World Philippines, Gwendolyn won one million pesos cash prize, a condo unit, and other fabulous prizes.
Gwendolyn, who was a finalist at last year's Binibining Pilipinas, will also represent the Philippines in the 61st edition of Miss World pageant to be held on November 6, 2011 in London.
Maria Paula, on the other hand, was adjudged Best in Long Gown.
Chloe won two special awards: Miss SMDC and Miss Kapuso World
The Miss World Philippines was hosted by Dingdong Dantes, Isabelle Daza, and Carla Abellana.
The board of judges includes GMA-7 executive Wilma Galvante, actress Iza Calzado, beauty expert Fanny Serrano, cosmetic surgeon Vicki Belo, and boxing champ Sarangani Rep. Manny Pacquiao.
Reigning Miss World Alexandria Mills also attended the event.

THE National Telecommunications Commission (NTC)
on Tuesday said it will endorse to Malacanang the adoption of the Japanese standard for the Philippines' migration to digital terrestrial TV.
Jose Carlo Martinez, NTC deputy commissioner told reporters that the technical working group and most of the broadcasting networks chose Japan's Integrated Service Digital Broadcasting-Terrestrial standard over Europe's Digital Video Broadcasting-Terrestrial 2.
Martinez said both platforms met the criteria set by the TWG, but the Japanese set-top box was more affordable at $20 compared with the European standard's $40.
"We will send a recommendation letter to the economic managers. After that we will issue the implementing rules and regulation as soon as we receive the go signal," Martinez said.
He expects NTC to issue the IRR before the end of the year.
Digital TV is a system for broadcasting and receiving digital sound and video signals that require an especially designed and more advanced TV set than the traditional analog box.
The regulator estimates that around 14 million Filipino households use analog TV sets.
The country plans to migrate from analog to digital TV by 2015.
The Kapisanan ng Brodkaster ng Pilipinas earlier recommended the adoption of ISDB-T because of its affordable set-top boxes and the assistance that the Japanese government promised the Philippines.
KBP said various TV networks have undertaken test broadcasts of digital broadcast using ISDB-T, namely ABS-CBN, Net 25, RPN, IBC 13, Channel 4 and SBN.
The NTC had planned to issue the IRR for digital TV last month, but put it off after Malacanang ordered a review.
The regulator last year issued an order adopting Japanese ISDB-T as the standard, but held off implementation after some broadcasting companies requested another review of Europe's DVB-T2.
The Philippines will be the first in Asia to adopt the Japanese standard for digital TV.
