ABS-CBN PRIME TIME RULED MEGA & METRO MANILA RATINGS FOR FEBRUARY!

Although losing the National Television Overall Ratings to GMA-7, ABS-CBN still managed to have a good grip in the much contested prime time block with its undisputed trio, Mutya, Mara Clara and Imortal! Citing Kantar Media's Television Survey, ABS-CBN stood strong in leading Prime time viewing in Mega Manila and Metro Manila. From  Feb 1 to 15, 2011, ABS-CBN’s “Mutya,” “Mara Clara,” and “Imortal” consistently beat “Dwarfina,” “Machete,” and “I Heart You Pare” in Metro Manila, Mega Manila, and the entire country.


Leadership in primetime television is important because television viewing is at its highest in the evening. February’s figures would show that ABS-CBN had more viewers than any other TV network in across the country as it enjoyed a 40% audience share or nine points higher than GMA’s 31%.

Interestingly, GMA lost its leadership in Mega Manila primetime to ABS-CBN’s “Mara Clara” that topped all shows with an average rating of 27.6%. GMA’s “Machete” could only hit 20.6%. The other ABS-CBN shows did better than GMA such as “Mutya” (23%) vs “Dwarfina” (22.2%) and “Imortal” (21.6%) vs “I Heart You Pare” (20.2%).

The trend is the same in Metro Manila with more households tuning in to ABS-CBN’s primetime offerings. “Mara Clara” remained on top with an average rating of 28.6% vs “Machete” with a mere 19.4%. “Mutya” (23.7%) rated higher than “Dwarfina” (20.9%). And “Imortal” (23.6%) had more followers than “IHeart You Pare”(19.4%).

Nationwide, ABS-CBN pulled away from competition. “Mara Clara” is the country’s number one program with an average rating of 34.8%, which is more than twice the rating of GMA’s “Machete” (17.1%). “Mutya” rated an average of 31.4% vs. GMA’s “Dwarfina” (18.3%). ABS-CBN again enjoyed a double-digit lead with “Imortal” (26%) beating “IHeart You Pare” (15.9%).

Kantar Media, a global market research group, offers audience research measurement systems in 32 countries. It started releasing its Philippine television audience measurement data in February 2009 with panels composed of 1,370 representative households covering urban Philippines and reporting on seven sectors namely the National Capital Region, North Luzon, Central Luzon, South Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

ABS-CBN shifted to Kantar Media/TNS after filing a case vs. AGB Nielsen Media Research for failing to comply with its request to investigate alleged cheating and data tampering in TV ratings. The case is still pending in court.

kasabay kasi ng green rose ang baker king eh diba yun lang ang nagre-rate sa primetime ng gma, kaya talo ang green rose :-)

ads ba kamo? ok here's the thing...in the first place abs-cbn is a kbp member?wat does it mean folks?meaning me limitasyon talaga cla when it comes to commercial, di cla pwedeng magsalang ng commercial hanggang gusto nila kc bka...mapenalty cla,anyway let us talk about gma7,hindi po cla member eng kbp?before kasali cla ewan ko bkit umalis pero ung reason nila is ung kbp daw pumapabor sa dos ...which is NOT true,papano naman papabor kbp sa dos e lahat ng media ng pinas andito na di nagalit ung ibang member nila kung ganun nga,lam nyo folks lage ugali ng syete mag-akusa bkit di na lang nila aminin na "gahaman" talaga cla sa pera kaya umayaw cla sa kbp,kya kita nyo namn once na malakas program nila kasehodang ang daming commercial na pinapasok cla wa care kung hanggang commercial ang isalang nila which is nababadtrip na nanonood kc against cla sa pera nga, db gozon? chos!

ahahah...umaabot din ng 17 minutes ang ad loads ng mara clara at imortal no....

yung taas ng dwarfina ay dahil sa nung january yan...pero by march for sure bigla ng bababa ang ad loads nyan...

hahahah...

sa oras lang ng mga taong bahay, kasambahay, tagabantay, tambay...panalo ang gma sa tanghali...

rj: @adwatch,,,abs cbn has 18-minute ad per hour rule by KBP...primetimebida runs 4hr so meaning they can only have 72 minutes of ads per night

sweetie, other than TOW and Eat Bulaga, almost all the rest are statistically tied... sa primetime tambak

reflection yun ng performance ng gma7 last month and meron sila kasing deal sa mga advertisers the one we called bundled.

Ganito lang yan. Pag panalo ang GMA sa Primetime importante ang primtime. Pag panalo ang ABS sa primetime, Primetime NA LANG ang panalo ng ABS.

Sa mga ratings nato napatunayan ko ulit na pag ibrebreakdown ang Mega Manila into Metro and Suburbs, ang tendency mas mataas ang ABS sa Metro Manila at ang GMA ay malakas sa mga suburbs like Laguna, Cavite etc. Nahahatak pataas ng mga suburbs ang GMA pataas kaya mataas sa Mega Manila. Kaya Mega Manila is NOT GMA's turf. SUBURBS ang turf ng GMA at Metro Manila ay ABS leaning ng konti. Kaya sa mga nang-aapi na mga probinsyano (na wala namang masama sa pagiging probinsyano dahil mas marami pang mayayaman at edukado na taga probinsya) ang mga viewers ng ABS dahil malakas sa VisMin, think again. Ang bumubuhay sa GMA ay probinsya rin sa suburbs at ang bumubuhay sa kanya sa Visayas area ay IloIlo.

Mababa ang Green Rose. Many people are missing a lot. This is one of the best Foreign Adaptations. Anne-Echo malakas ang chemistry. Magaling si Echo. Maganda ang pagkakasulat at pagkakadirect.
