GMA-7 TO EXCEED P3B PROFIT TARGET THIS YEAR ON HIGHER AD RATES!

GMA Network Inc. expects to exceed its P3-billion net income target this year on higher advertising revenues, a top official said Wednesday.

GMA Network president and chief executive Felipe Gozon told reporters ad spending started to pick up significantly in September and October, after weakening in July and August due to increased rates.

Gozon said the network exceeded its internal ad revenue target for the month of October with still more than a week to go.

The advertising rates of GMA Network rose 5 percent on the average.

Gozon expects the company to register strong financial performance this year and in 2011 with higher advertising rates.

GMA Network registered a net income of P1.68 billion in the first six months of the year, up 24 percent from P1.36 billion year-on-year.


Consolidated revenues in the first six months grew by 19 percent to P7.565 billion from P6.335 billion on-year. The increase of P1.230 billion in revenues during the six-month period in nominal terms almost equaled the P1.274-billion improvement reported during the full of 2009.

Share price of GMA Network ended higher by P0.05 Wednesday to P7.45.

Rival network ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corp., the largest media company, earlier raised its profit target to P3 billion from P2 billion this year after net income grew almost 200 percent in the first half.

Bakit ayaw mo maniwala nga si Angel locsin ang most beautiful? kung si Marian ang number 1 maniniwala ka ba kahit hindi ito aabot ng 1 million vote? patawa talaga kau mga kanguso!!
Ito lng masasabi ko sa inyo walang ka award2x ang mga kanguso sa PMPC!! si marian d naman pinansin sa PMPC!!

wrong move na naman, ang siste lilipat ng tv5 ung mga advertisers kasi nga mas mura dun...

ang isang 30sec advertisement noon ang bayad bawat palabas nun ay 200-300k....

kung may 11 na ads ang isang show x 300k , ok na....

but I agree na mas malaki this year ang magiging profit ng DOs kaysa sa siete

ung 200k-300k kasi un ung info na sinabi sa akin ng taga digitel nung nagshoshoot ng ad dati ung bayantel, bale un daw ung minimum...

I i see...yung P475,000 sa primetime ay nung 2008 pa ata, pero may mga package deals kasi yan so may mga discount especially for large advertisers ...so mas lesser sa P475K yung actual rate nila...

kanina nga pala nagpunta ako sa isang studio d2 sa makati na nagpaparent ng services nila sa advertisers, at confirmed nga ung 200k-300k pataas na bayad sa isang network iba pa pala un sa primetime rates,

wow naman maganda at malapit ka sa mga studios....sana makashare ka dito ng scoop about the exact rate cards ngayon ng GMA at abs...

meron ako rate cards ng GMa at QTV pero noong 2008 pa yun....i want sana to see how much bigger ang ad rates ng dos esp primetime lalo pa't 70% yun ng total ad revenues....

In South Luzon and in the Visayas and Mindanao regions, ABS-CBN dominated the airwaves in June with audience shares hovering at around 60% or higher, and maintaining 35 to 50 percentage point-wide margins over GMA7.
