The low budgeted Korean Drama, Helena's Promise, unexpectedly became an instant GOLD MINE for ABS-CBN as it booked a total of 51 ad spots in its premiere last November 14, 2011! This is despite the show's demising debut with only 4 percentage points household ratings in Mega Manila. Helena's Promise became the highest loading Kapamilya Gold program even beating the top rater, Reputasyon (30 ads) and the highly hyped reality program Pinoy Big Brother Unli Day (36 ads)! It also bested other GMA afternoon prime shows Kokak (49 ads), Kung Aagawin mo ang Langit (49 ads) and Kung Ikaw lang ang Mamahalin in terms of product placements.
This frenzy will help boost profitability for ABS-CBN especially that Helena's Promise is a dubbed low cost show. However, the hype is only due to expectations and may drastically change in the coming days as HP's actual viewership is phenomenally low.
