GUNS & ROSES CRUSHED AMAYA IN MEGA MANILA!

For the first time since it premiere, ABS-CBN's Guns and Roses beats GMA's most expensive epic series, AMAYA in Mega Manila! Despite the heavy rains in Mega Manila,  ABS-CBN has managed to glue viewers to their tv screens as it occupied 3 slots in the top 5 highest rating programs last Friday, June 17, 2011. 100 Days to Heaven took the lead with a 14.3% people rating, followed by Robin Padilla's Guns and Roses with a 12.3% rating. The korean romantic drama Secret Garden settled no.3 followed by Munting Heredera and Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin.

ABS-CBN TO MIGRATE TFC SUBSCRIBERS TO THE INTERNET!

Part of consumer segment growth would come from the global channels as subscribers’ shift to internet protocol television. Online usage is expected to be more prominent Globally, with more technologies developing towards mobile internet.  Even TV viewing is expected to go mobile via the internet, opening new opportunities  for growth.

Lopez said the plan is for ABS-CBN to move 80 percent to 100 percent of its overseas subscribers to internet TV in the next five years so they can watch Kapamilya programs anytime.

Pero sa kabila ng pagsasabi ng dalawa na walang romansang namamagitan sa kanila na dapat ipag-alala ng mga ka-partners nilang sina Mariel Rodriguez at Zanjoe Marudo, patuloy pa rin silang tinatangkilik ng manonood.

ABS-CBN EXPECTS CONSUMER SALES TO OVERTAKE ADVERTISING INCOME!

In a disclosure by Malaya, ABS-CBN chief Executive Officer Eugenio Lopez said he expects the consumer segment to overtake the growth in advertising. At present, 60 percent of revenues come from ads and 40 percent from the consumer segment.

Advertising segments include TV ads, Radio ads, Regional ads, Online ads and Cable ads, consumer sales on the other hand are sourced from Sky Cable, TFC, Star Cinema, ABS-CBN Publications, ABS-CBN Interactive and ABS-CBN Global. Digital Box distribution is the additional segment for consumer sales and is expected to boost profits for 2011.

PAGASA WEATHER UPDATE: TYPHOON "EGAY"!

At 11:00 p.m., Saturday, 18 June 2011, Tropical Depresssion "EGAY" continues to move Northwestward and now threatens Cagayan- Isabela Area.

EGAY was estimated based on satellite and surface data at 120 km North-Northeast of Virac, Catanduanes or at 270 km Southeast of Casiguran Aurora (15.1°N, 124.7°E) with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center. It is forecast to move North Northwest at 17 kph.

PIOLO PASCUAL ON BEING A FATHER ON MMK TONIGHT!

Two years after working together in the teleserye Lovers And Paris, Piolo Pascual and Maricar Reyes are reunited in the Father’s Day episode of Maalaala Mo Kaya this June 18.

Piolo plays the role of Darwin Calvario of General Santos City, a tricycle driver who tries his best to be a good provider to his wife Chona (played Maricar) and their newborn baby. Earning money for their daily needs is difficult enough already, but his strength as a family man is put to the test when he finds out that his baby is suffering from imporforate anus (no anal opening) and needs to undergo an immediate operation. Amidst his frantic search for funds that would cover his son’s hospital bills, Darwin stumbles upon a bag containing a huge amount of money in the backseat of his tricycle one day. Is it the answer to his dilemma or will he choose to return the money to its rightful owner?
