Driven by a stiffer competition imposed by TV5 in the weekends, ABS-CBN and GMA-7 are on a defensive mode as they  implement a restructuring of weekend line-ups to hold  thier respective market shares intact. On PEP  GMA-7 reported that it will end Saturday programs Jejemom and Kaya ng Powers which has been losing the ratings war to ABS-CBN and TV5. It is reported that they will replace it with more competitive formats probably similar to the ones offered by TV5. ASB-CBN on the other hand is reported to produce  new programs that will heat up thge competition in the highly embattled primetime slots.

GMA Network denied the news of placing Jessica Sojo on 24 Oras to match the offering of rival channel! Early this week ABS-CBN annouced that veteran broadcasters Noli "Kabayan" De Castro and Korina Sanchez will be back on TV Patrol to counter TV5's Variety Program Willing Willie. that has been eating up thier viewer share. At the back of this disclosure rumors spread that GMA Network will upgrade thier own evening newscast by adding Jessica Sojo on 24 Oras. But this was denied by Sandra Aguinaldo, staff of the Kapuso channel's News and Current Affairs department, claiming they are not threatened by these changes and will contitue to deliver fair and up-to-date news reporting. 24 oras remained the undesputed channel in Mega Manila leading the numbers game in both AGB and TNS TV surveys.
