ABS-CBN TRAPPED IN TURMOIL! FACES CHALLENGES AMIDST TOUGHER COMPETITION!

After enjoying an overwhelming flow of blessings early this year, the country's largest Media Entity, ABS-CBN Corporation is in a big chaos after experiencing down fall on the ratings game late this year. The onset of the dilemma was when its highly paid talent, the actor tv host Willie Revillame, was suspended from his  noontime program  after his disrespectful remarks against the management of the Network. Since then the overall performance of its noontime programs dipped drastically causing the overall ratings of the channel to shrink. The problem continued when Wowowee was replaced by Pilipinas Win na Win which rated poorly in the National Ratings. The situation was worsened when its top rating evening drama, Agua Bendita was replaced by a poor performing musically inspired series, IDOL, that pulled the entire evening line up down. 

STAR POWER STARTS POORLY! ILUMINA ZOOMS TO THE TOP IN PRIMETIME!

The Premiere of ABS-CBN's newest singing competition, Star Power, only raked 5.9% people ratings in Mega Manila, 5.2 % behind Kap's Amazing Stories of  the rival network. Sharon's new program ranked only 7th  during the evening rankings in Mega Manila. 

Meanwhile, GMA's ILUMINA zoomed to the top spot last Friday posting 17.4% people ratings, more than double than that of Idol with only 7.9%. ABS-CBN's Imortal landed first among kapamilya programs on the said day with 11.7%, but it only stood 6th on the overall rankings behind  Survivor  with 13.7%. GMA's Telebabad programs occupied all the top 5 slots the said evening in Mega manila.

ABS-CBN CLAIMS NATIONAL RATINGS LEADESHIP ON SEPTEMBER!

Citing data from TNS, media giant ABS-CBN claims  TV Ratings leadership for the month of September with an average audience share of 40% versus rival with 34%. Nine out of the top ten most-watched programs nationwide for September were produced by ABS-CBN. These are “Agua Bendita” (32.6%), “Noah” (34.1%), “TV Patrol” (32.6%), “Wansapanataym” (29.1%), “Momay” (27.7%), “Maalaala Mo Kaya” (27.4%), “Idol” (26.9%), “Kokey@Ako” (25.9%), and “TV Patrol Weekend” (24.8%).ABS-CBN’s newest fantasy series “Imortal” took their first bite on the nationwide viewership shares and scored a rating of 34.4% on its premiere episode beating its rival program with only 22.7%. 

TV5 NOW NO.1 ON WEEKEND EARLY PRIMETIME!

For three straight weeks, data based on AGB-Nielsen Mega Manila Individual Ratings show that TV5 has been winning over competition in the battle over weekend primetime ratings.

Last Saturday (October 2), the AGB Nielsen Arianna Megatam (Individuals) overnight ratings indicated that for all of primetime (6 pm-2 am), TV5 overtook ABS-CBN to become the 2nd most watched network. Based on the said reprt, TV5 had an audience share of 26.9% beating ABS-CBN's 19.9% and following GMA-7's 35%.

AGB HH RATINGS! IMORTAL & GRAZILDA IN A CLOSE FIGHT! 24 ORAS TAKES THE LEAD!

 October 7, 2010 Mega Manila household ratings data showed GMA's evening newscast 24 Oras taking the lead in Primetime with  29.9%, while ABS-CBN's Imortal fared well ending 6th in the rankings with 27.6%, Grazilda fell 9th with 26.9%. While Grazilda won in AGB's People's Ratings by 0.8%, 13.7% vs 12.9%, Imortal registered better in Household ratings for Mega Manila making a 0.7% lead against rival. Relative to audience share, Grazilda is GMA's weakest program to date after Imortal Premiered early this month, while Endless Love is the best performing program in this category. GMA telebabad programs showed consistency and stability of viewers starting from 24 Oras til Endless love with numbers ranging from 30%-27%,and variance less than 3%. Nevertheless TVP,Noah, Kokey and Imortal are giving rivals a hard time, but Idol and Kristine are easy bait for GMA's queen of Primetime.

TV5 INCREASED AUDIENCE SHARE IN SEPTEMBER! AB-CBN NARROWS LEAD IN THE NATIONAL SURVEY!

The disclosure from GMA-7 indicates that TV5 increased viewership in Mega Manila with an average audience share of 12.9% in September from a 10% share months ago. GMA Network continues to narrow the gap in the national survey as ABS-CBN's lead in audience share in July was cut by almost half at the quarter's close.  From a gap of 8.2 percentage points in July, GMA-7 trimmed ABS-CBN's lead to 5.4 in August. In September, ABS-CBN's lead went down further to only 4.8 percentage points, with GMA-7 posting an average total day audience share at 33.5% versus ABS-CBN's 38.3%.GMA Network's lead over rival ABS-CBN in average total-day  audience share in Mega Manila stood at 7 percentage points in September, with GMA-7 posting 37.7% versus competition's 30.7%.

IMORTAL LAUNCHING ON ASAP VS PARTY P'S SKIN EPISODE THIS SUNDAY!

After more than a month of consecutive lost against ASAP XV, Party Pilipinas redeems it self this sunday with the Skin Epsiode to be directed by no other than Direct Mark Reyes. However will GMA's noontime musical program be able to succeed against the grand launching of ABS-CBN's biggest series of the year, the ANGEL LOCSIN and John Lyod Cruz starrer IMORTAL!?
