ABS-CBN's remake of Pangako Sa ‘Yo emerged as the most watched program nationwide and in Mega Manila last Monday, May 25.
Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla topbill the new Kapamilya primetime series directed by Rory Quintos, Dado Lumibao and Olivia M. Lamasan.
However, the Kathniel tandem was not yet shown in the pilot episode of the teleserye that replaced Forevermore.
The first episode focused on the blossoming romance between a cook named Amor (Jodi Sta. Maria) and a businessman named Eduardo (Ian Veneracion).
Eduardo declares that he wants to meet the cook who came up with the delicious "binalayok" (a dish cooked using pottery placed inside a kiln oven).
However, Amor had to leave since her father (played by Buboy Garovillo) was having problems in the Buena mine, which is owned by Eduardo's family.
Later on, Amor and Eduardo have the chance to meet each other when they got stuck together in an elevator. The gentleman helped Amor calm down since she was suffering from claustrophobia.
Donya Benita (played by Pilar Pilapil) convinces her son Eduardo to consider getting married to the governor's illegitimate daughter Claudia (played by Angelica Panganiban).
