Data released by AGB Nielsen show that ABS-CBN regained NUTAM leadership from GMA Network with a 37% audience share! This was an increase of 1 percentage point from the 36% share recorded the previous month. The increase in NUTAM ratings for ABS-CBN was attributed to the strength of its daytime programs with Showtime beating Eat Bulaga in the noontime ratings. Minute to Win It and Kapamilya Gold also contributed an increase in overall ratings as said shows beats rival programs!
GMA's audience share shrank 1 percentage point during the same period from 31% to 30% in May.
TV5 recorded a 16 percent audience share in the May 19 to 25 period, a three point increase from 13 percent from the May 12 to 18 period.
TV5's nationwide primetime audience share went up to 17 percent in May from 13 percent the month before.
This result from AGB Nielsen validates the claim of Kantar Media indicating a widening lead of ABS-CBN in the National Ratings. GMA-7 and TV5 both subscribes to AGB Nielsen while ABS-CBN is a known client of Kantar Media. Kantar Media covers both urban and rural areas and has more sample households than AGB Nielsen. AGB Nielsen only measures TV Ratings of Urban Areas.
