GMA NETWORK TO INVEST IN BROADBAND BUSINESS!

Gozon says that with technological advancements of today, "TV is in a constant state of flux."

Thus, if a deal with Pangilinan's group does not push through, Gozon admitted that GMA-7 would have to begin investing in broadband given the trend towards online and traditional broadcast converging.

As it stands, GMA-7 is the only one among the 3 major television networks without major broadband and cable assets. Industry leader ABS-CBN Corp. has been aggressively investing in broadband through its Sky Cable unit, while TV5 has access to the massive telecommunications and broadband assets of Pangilinan-led Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co (PLDT).

"At the moment we don't have telecoms and we don't intend to go into that because that requires a tremendous amount of investment. Besides it's too late for us to do that now. So we will just make our part of the convergence as strong as possible because they also need us like horse and carriage."

Gozon pointed out that GMA is strong in terms of content, which also plays a vital role in the modern media landscape. "In my opinion of all this technological digitization, good quality content is what will be needed by everybody when the convergence happens and all that.""It's like having a highway and you need motor vehicles to pass through the highway or else the highway will be useless. And it's the content that drives the utilization of the highways, the platform. It has to be good quality content because there will be many choices and you are going to compete in a wider field. There are so many things to choose from because of the multiplication of the platforms," added the network chairman.

MVP can save GMA from slipping away. MVP can make a synergy of TV5 and GMA's content into provider giant PLDT. GMA itself has no telecom provider so if the sale does not push through GOZON must invest in Broadband in order to survive. . .

ABS-CBN on the otherhand have already invested in CABLE, TELECOM and BROADBAND which in itself is sufficient to grow even further... For 2012, ABS-CBN is investing 5 Billion for Broadband Expansion... Heheheh...

Anonymous said...

Okay back to topic...

GMA is too late in investing in cable and broadband services for me... If they ever materialized talunan agad for sure on launch...

Anonymous said...

Eh ano ang tawag nila sa Boy Pick-up, My Kontrabida Girl? AHAHAHAHA! BWAHAHAHAHA

MUHABOY said...

Too Late for GMA to invest in Broadband or Cable... SKYCABLE of ABS-CBN has 700 thousand strong customer NATIONWIDE... That is because they invest their income and they expand each time opportunity arises...

MUHABOY said...

http://lopez-holdings.ph/uploads/files/lopezlinkAUG2012.pdf

Sana meron ding ganitong publications ang GOZON GROUP of COMPANIES. . . hehehe. .

There are no perfect movie. Even the most of a movie shall have its critics. You cant please everybody but you certainly hope to please most of them.

True, there are lessons that GMA Films never learn kaya they always come up with crap.

The teen actors in the first segment are not convincing, and the whole experience – from the direction to the scares – feels like a shoddier version of so many other ghost stories we’ve seen before. That weak beginning means that The Road is a hard movie to invest in – meaning that finicky viewers will likely be put off before they can even get to the latter (better) sections. (http://screenrant.com/the-road-reviews-2012-kofi-171087/)

Yam Laranas's style largely consists of references to directors with better moves, but that his story is fixated on the sort of retrograde psychoanalysis that went out with the last scene of Hitchcock's Psycho. (http://www.slantmagazine.com/film/review/the-road/6269)

at sa Kontrabida Girl

“It’s a bit confusing, the frothy plot that starts off promisingly but sort of fizzles out in the end. Part satire, part homage, the story isn’t the tightest and the pace really drags in the last half hour of the movie.” Ria Limjap (Spot.ph)

Arsenio Tan Liao (Pinoy Cinephiles)

“Direk Jade and Aloy Adlawan should have hid away this concept, developed it properly, and mounted it the way it deserves. Bella Flores, Cherie Gil, Maritoni Fernandez and Gladys Reyes deserve better.” Zig Marasigan (Lagarista)

Paul H. Roquia (Aliwan Avenue)

Musta naman ang Boy Pickup

Production-wise, the movie is a disaster. There are a couple of interesting directorial choices, particularly in the use of longer shots. But as a whole, the movie just looks terrible. A lot of it looks dim and uninteresting, and the insistence on using CGI just makes everything look cheaper. Sometimes, it feels like the movie goes out of its way to find something to apply CGI to. Philbert Ortiz Dy (Click The City)

“Worth a look for the novelty of it all, but truth be told you can spend the same amount of time watching best-of clips on Youtube.” Mihk Vergara (Lagarista)

I saw this movie on Thursday night, and it is only this Saturday morning when I can write this review. I left the theater so dumb-founded that I cannot form a coherent sentence. First off, I think this movie has no redeeming factor whatsoever. The jokes are tasteless and unfunny. The cameos are a tad too much and annoying. The plot is too stupid, it's hard to watch.
