It’s a night of “veterans” at the Binibining Pilipinas 2012 held last night, April 15, at the Araneta Coliseum.
Two of the three titleholders this year have joined the Binibining Pilipinas in the past.
Bb. Pilipinas-Universe Janine Tugonon (No. 18) was the 1st runner-up last year, while Bb. Pilipinas-International Nicole Schmitz (No. 18) was a semi-finalist in 2007.

The Bb. Pilipinas-Tourism crown went to Katrina Jayne Dimaranan (No. 13).
The 1st runner-up is Elaine Kay Moll (No. 15) and 2nd runner-up is Annalie Forbes (No. 29).
Those who also made it in the Top 12 are: Sherlyn Gonzales (No. 30), Liezl Alcantara (No. 16), Patricia Lee Ejercitado (No. 7), Angelee delos Reyes (No. 26), Mary Jean Lastimosa (No. 9), Gina Joy Howell (No. 14), and Karen Gallman (No. 1).
Aside from winning the Bb. Pilipinas-International crown, Nicole Schmitz also won two special awards: Best in Swimsuit and Best in National Costume.
Mary Jean Lastimosa, last year’s 2nd runner-up, won Miss PAL and Miss Avon.

Personally mas nagandahan ako sa sagot ni Nicole kesa kay Janine. Mas maganda ang content at delivery. YUng kay Janine mejo sablay sa delivery. At ang gown pangit. Pero siguro tama lang din si Janine for Miss Universe. Hindi bebenta si Nicole sa Miss U as a Filipina candidate. She looks and sounds too foreign. And the surname is too caucasian na mejo papatok sa International or World. So naiintindihan ko. May iba't ibang taste at preference ang bawat beauty pageant. So ok na rin. MJ Lastimosa should just join Miss World Philippines. Kaso parang mas pang Miss U ang dating kasi niya. Pero malay natin.
