Data from AGB Nielsen indicates GMA Network continuing its grip in the National Ratings with its strong Daytime line-up! Channel 7 is up 2.2% against Channel 2 in the Urban regions with 34.2%, while ABS-CBN looses the rank with 32%. It also leads ABS-CBN in Mega Manila for the last 2 weeks of February by 14.3% , while TV5 is behind ABS-CBN by just 7.8%. Data also show that TV5 and ABS-CBN are almost at par in the overall daytime ratings in Mega Manila, with ABS-CBN's comfortable lead in Prime time keeping the distance overall.
However in Kantar, ABS-CBN still holds the lead with a 1% lead for the entire month of February, but as reported earlier in TVNETWORKWAR latest figures from Katar for the last two weeks of February indicates GMA-7 stealing the lead in most of the weekdays.
Both survey results agree that ABS-CBN maintains the lead in Prime time not only for the National Urban but also for Mega Manila as Mutya, Mara Clara and Imortal leads the rankings. However the problematic numbers in the afternoon battle kept ABS-CBN at a huge disadvantage thus affecting its overall performance. On a percentage basis, the Prime time block constitutes 22% of the total airtime, while the Daytime block holds 67%. However, on the basis of advertising revenues, 70% are sourced from the evening programs, while 30% rests on the daytime advertisements. GMA-7 now has the highest advertising load among the free-to-air TV Channels, both for Daytime and Evening advertisements.

Kantar Media, a global market research group, offers audience research measurement systems in 32 countries. It started releasing its Philippine television audience measurement data in February 2009 with panels composed of 1,370 representative households covering urban Philippines and reporting on seven sectors namely the National Capital Region, North Luzon, Central Luzon, South Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.
ABS-CBN shifted to Kantar Media/TNS after filing a case vs. AGB Nielsen Media Research for failing to comply with its request to investigate alleged cheating and data tampering in TV ratings. The case is still pending in court.

GMA-7 PRESS RELEASE FOR AGB NIELSEN:
The Nielsen TV Audience Measurement used by GMA is used by 21 companies including two other local TV networks, namely, TV5 and Solar Entertainment; Faulkner Media; CBN Asia; 13 advertising agencies and three regional clients. On the other hand, ABS-CBN is the only local network reportedly subscribing to Kantar Media, formerly known as TNS.
In Mega Manila alone, the Nielsen TV Audience Measurement has a sample size of 880 homes as compared to Kantar Media’s 770 homes. Nationwide, Nielsen has a total sample size of 2,005 homes compared to the lower sample size of 1,370 utilized by Kantar Media.
^ that was a year ago, but latest report from Neilsen, indicates that GMA-7 regained the lead in advertising load from ABS-CBN. GMA-7 out numbered ABS-CBN's advertising load from daytime until prime time.
Last year (2010) this was the ad load for a certain quarter
ABS-CBN = 28,000 ad minutes
GMA-7 = 21,000 ad minutes
for the same period of 2009
abs-cbn = 18, 000 as minutes
GMA-7 = 25, 000 ad minutes
this 2011 GMA-7 reportedly increased its ad load to for the first quarter at around 24, 000 ad minutes, while abs-cbn were down at around 20,000

sa pagkakaalam ko po, not all of us are solid to one network, we all have our tastes, when you say you are a kapamilya,kapuso or kapatid, you should have watched them all the time, every minute and every second, but the problem is, nagsiswitch din kasi tayo ng station from time to time, aminin na lang po natin, but I guess, sa mindanao and visayas, ABS-CBN is always in the hearts of Filipinos living there, kahit magswitch station sila sa panonood kahit kapuso or kapatid, eh abs-cbn artists pa rin ang mas nakikilala nila...let's just admit it, evidence po ang mga advertisements na most of them po galing sa abs-cbn..
kaya nga po, ang aliby ng talagang hardocre kapamilya, hanggang mega manila lang diumano ang GMA, which is true din naman in general, pero at least nang narealize na rin ng GMA na kelangang pagtuunan din ng pansin ang outside metro manila, ayun yung mga promotional activities nila nagsilitawan kada probinsiya, so at least good work iyan para sa GMA, kaya lang, kulang pa masiyado, may maraming issues pa eh...
so, at least, di lang kapuso at kapamilya nga pala ang naglalaban ngayon, pati kapatid na rin pala, lumalaban na rin, at least makikita nga talaga ang diverse at totoong number one sa puso ng bawat pamilyang Pilipino..:-)
