JESSICA SANCHEZ MAKES IT TO IDOL TOP 4!

MANILA, Philippines (UPDATE) – Filipino-Mexican-American contestant Jessica Sanchez is now part of American Idol Season 11's Top 4.

Sanchez survived this week's elimination after gaining enough votes to land in the Top 4.

Country singer Skylar Laine was voted out this week after landing in bottom 2.

Hollie Cavanagh was also in the bottom 2, but joined Sanchez, Phillip Phillips and Joshua Ledet in the Top 4.

On Wednesday night (US time), Sanchez received mixed reviews on her performance.

Sanchez failed to impress Idol judge Randy Jackson in her first performance, where she sang Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary.”

"You took on probably the biggest dragon of the night... It didn't really quite sit with me," he said.

Judge Jennifer Lopez disagreed, saying Sanchez looked so grown-up when she got on stage tonight that she forgot she is only 16 years old.

Lopez added that she just saw Sanchez’s true style by showing “a little bit of Tina, a little bit of Beyonce” in the performance.

In round two, Sanchez earned high praises from all three judges with her performance of Joe Cocker's "You Are So Beautiful."

"This girl's in the top of the leaderboard right now," Jackson said.

"You, once again, showed America just how beautiful your voice is. You're going to be No. 1, girl," Tyler added.

Lopez noted how Sanchez captivated the audience once again just like when she sang “I Will Always Love You.”

"How could we have let this girl go home?" said Lopez, as if reminding the audience to continue their support for Sanchez, who had to be saved by the judges from elimination.
