RUFFA MAE LEAVES SHOWBIZ CENTRAL! IS SHE OPT TO TRANSFER TO TV5?

Sexy actress and comedienne Ruffa Mae Quinto has resigned from the entertainment news program "Showbiz Central."

Quinto announced her resignation on Sunday's telecast, saying she really misses spending time with her family on weekends.

"Career move na din at ang daming gagawing project. 'Yun ang na-feel ko 'pag gising ko, 'yung parang gusto kong magbiyahe ng walang trapik. Alam mo 'yung ganoon?" she told viewers of the show.

"Kasi 11 years, mula sa 'SOP' ako, nag-trabaho ako tuwing Linggo. So palagi tuwing linggo 'di ko maramdaman ang family day, ang church day. But, of course, hindi lang naman 'yon ang mga reasons. Kumbaga isa 'yon sa mga reasons ko," Quinto added.

After almost five years as one of the co-hosts of "Showbiz Central," she said it's just right for her to formally announce her goodbyes in the show.

"Kasi almost five years tayong nagsama-sama at naitaguyod ang show ng five years. Matindi din ang kalaban natin. So for me mami-miss ko lahat so I think mag-goodbye naman ng maayos, hindi ba?" she said.

Asked if it's true that she resigned from the show to move to a rival network, Quinto replied: "I'm not closing my doors. Hindi ba siyempre bilang artista gusto mo ring maka-trabaho ang ibat ibang klase ng artista so I'm looking forward to that."

Now that she won't be working on Sundays, Quinto said she will spend time more with her family.

"'Yung mamasyal ng Linggo pupunta ng Tagaytay, simple lang. Family day, church kayo sabay sabay ng family, tapos kakain sa labas or pwede kaming mag-out of town hanggang Linggo. Of course, magta-trabaho din ako kung Linggo kung may trabaho naman pero hindi linggo-linggo," Quinto said.

ABS-CBN not bothered by transfers

ABS-CBN has magic.

This was the remark made by its chief executive and chairman Gabby Lopez III during a symposium in Cebu.

This is related to the talk about what station is number one in the country.

He shared that he’s not shocked by recent transfers made by their former artists such as Sharon Cuneta, Aga Muhlach, Willie Revillame and Derek Ramsay. Rather, he’s thankful to TV5 for accepting them to their fold.

He said even if some of their stars have transferred, there are still a lot of them left and there are more to come.

He has a strong conviction on the network’s capability on making people famous. He knows that even stars which seem to have no chance of making it are experiencing the magic.

He also made mention on the billion-peso worth of contracts by TV5’s Manny V. Pangilinan but until now, those artists have no project to talk about. He also chided GMA7 for its claim of being number one. Mr. Lopez explained that whichever station has the higher advertising rates is considered the real number one.

He also mentioned the number of endorsements their artists are getting. He emphasized that advertisers have more faith in them.

And lastly, ABS-CBN has a solid and tested formula in its consistent high rating soap operas.
