Early this day Philppine Entertainment Portal released the National Urban Ratings of Local TV Programs from ABS-CBN and GMA. The Buzz in this day's release are the figures of BUDOY's premiere episode which battled AMAYA in Prime time. What's unusual was the inconsistent tally of ratings of BUDOY and AMAYA on the comparative and ranking figures. On the comparative page (main page of the report) Budoy's rating was 23.3%, matching Binondo Girl's national score of 23.3%, however in the rankings, BUDOY's rating was a staggering 27.2% making it the 2nd highest program of the day. A similar discrepancy was seen on its direct competitor, AMAYA, which in the main page appeared to have a 21.6% rating but its actual figures in the rankings stood only 20.3%.
As viewers comment on the close difference between AMAYA and BUDOY (23.3% vs 21.6%) in the main page of the disclosure, a deception is being generated as the margin of difference was trimmed to 1.7 percentage points, from the actual difference of 6.9 percentage points (27.2% vs 20.3% ).
The timing of this alleged honest mistake is being attacked by skeptics as it happened exactly at the debut of BUDOY which happen compete with GMA's most expensive project, AMAYA. Is it really a mere coincidental mistake? or an intentional fraud?
