Citing data from the more widely recognized TV Ratings provider, AGB Nielsen, PLDT's TV5 has stepped a new milestone as it bested GMA-7 in NUTAM for the very first time! In the highly contested and revenue generating prime time block, TV5 scored a whooping 22.7% audience share last August 27, 2011. This was remarkably better than GMA-7's 21.8% audience share for the same day as per data provided by AGB Nielsen.
However both figures are way too far for the undisputed leader in NUTAM, ABS-CBN, as the channel accumulated an average audience share of 40.3%, almost equaling the combined audiences of TV5 and GMA-7! Studiio 23 also performed well during the same period edging out GMA NEWS TV to capture the 4th slot.
TV5 considers this achievement as the fruit of their hard labor and persistence in entering the mainstream advertising business.
Nationwide (in order):
1. ABS-CBN - 14.5% (40.3%)
2. TV5 - 8.2% (22.7%)
3. GMA - 7.9% (21.8%)
