ABS-CBN has again proved its unchallenged appeal to the advertisers as it leads all local channels in revenue generation and total ad minutes! For the first half of 2011 ABS-CBN's archival rival GMA-7 earned a total regular ad minutes of 46,049 growing by 9% year-on-year, however ABS-CBN's recurring ad minutes proved better increasing to 49, 078 or 2% year-on-year.
Although ABS-CBN's growth was a little short than that of GMA, the kapamilya network still edged out the latter by 3, 029 minutes or 7% more TV advertisements. This figure does not include regional advertisements for which the Lopez company leads by a mile. Earlier this week, GMA Network claimed to capture 40% of the "TV Ad spending for July", however the company failed to give the details of the claim.
