GMA NEWS: KAPUSO NETWORK NO.1 PA RIN NATIONWIDE!

Broadcast station GMA Network, Inc. (GMA) dominated the ratings nationwide not only in June but for the entire first half of 2011, according to Nielsen TV Audience Measurement, the most widely recognized ratings service provider.

Based on household data for the first semester of 2011 (June 26 to 30 data based on overnight readings), GMA was the number one channel in National Urban Philippines with 33.1 share points, higher than ABS-CBN's 32.1 and TV5's 15.2


During the period, GMA also performed well in Urban Luzon and Mega Manila, which comprise 77 percent and 58 percent of total television households in the country, respectively.

In Urban Luzon, GMA had 36.6 share points against ABS-CBN's 27.2 and TV5's 16.9 share points.

In Mega Manila, GMA had 37.6 share points in Mega Manila against ABS-CBN's 25.8 and TV5's 17.6 share points.

June ratings

In June alone in Urban Luzon, GMA was ahead with 36.7 points, much higher compared to ABS-CBN's 28.3 and TV5's 16.7.

In Mega Manila in June, GMA posted 37.2 share points, ahead of ABS-CBN's 27.4 and TV5's 17.4.

In fact, GMA dominated the lists of overall top 30 programs in Luzon and Mega Manila with 20 and 19 entries in respective rosters.

Primetime ratings

Meanwhile, on primetime, GMA attracted more viewers with its medley of genres, compared to the mostly drama genres featured by other stations.

GMA's most ambitious primetime project "Amaya," starred by Kapuso primetime queen Marian Rivera, is currently the highest rating program on free-to-air television.

As of the end of June, Amaya had 37.5 household share points in Mega Manila and 36.7 household share points in Luzon.

The other GMA-produced Entertainment TV Telebabad programs such as "Captain Barbell" and "Munting Heredera," likewise made it to the top 10 lists in both areas.

The lone primetime newscast that made it to the top 10 in Mega Manila and Luzon was GMA's flagship newscast "24 Oras."

The recently launched "Sinner or Saint" that features the first tandem of Bianca King and Dennis Trillo on daytime TV was a certified hit compared to ABS-CBN's Kapamilya Blockbuster and Frijolito.

The afternoon drama series garnered 36 household share points in National Urban Philippines, 40.1 points in Luzon, and 40.3 points in Mega Manila, almost twice the rating of its competitor programs.

The Nielsen TV Audience Measurement used by GMA is used by 21 companies including TV5 and Solar Entertainment; Faulkner Media; CBN Asia; 13 advertising agencies and three regional clients.

On the other hand, ABS-CBN is the only local major TV network reportedly subscribing to Kantar Media, formerly known as TNS.

In Mega Manila alone, the Nielsen TV Audience Measurement has a sample size of 880 homes as compared to Kantar Media's 770 homes.

Nationwide, Nielsen has a total sample size of 2,005 homes compared to the lower sample size of 1,370 used by Kantar Media. -

masanay na kayo...try to observe,hindi naman trending topics yang shows nila, in other words, hindi sikat,hindi pinag-uusapan ng mga tao from middle-class pataas since laging may internet access mga ganyang class sa social networking sites,kahit gabing gabi pa (oras kunsaan sarado na ang net cafes with exemptions of 24hr cafes of course)

Urban Luzon and Mega Manila has the most dense population meaning, kahit pagsamahin ang population ng visayas at mindanao, lubhang mas mataas pa rin ang urban luzon population. GMA wins. pero the question is, what is the age and class of this viewers?, class A,B, and C with ages 18 and up matter the most sa mga advertisers, yun ba ang majority ng audience nila? hindi natin masasabi kung sino ang no. 1 na station, kulang ang datos, kung percentage lang ibibigay. kelangan ng specifications. hindi tayo america na million viewers ang rini-release, specified pa kung anong time at age ng viewers. pero maybe alam ng mga advertisers ang mga datos na yun, fooling the public.

F.Y.I., BUMULUSOK ang ad minutes ng Amaya despite ng pagiging PINAKAMAHAL n ad rates s primetime. Ang Amaya ay nkapgtala 4 ad gaps at ang ad minutes nito ay 18-20 minutes. Ang ad minutes kada gap ay 5 minutes. 22o yan at nbilang n.

so dito palang malinaw, na mas malaki ang sakop na audience ng dos that are in higher social status compared sa audience ng siete..
therefore i can say that most of gma viewers/audiences belongs to the lower class..those who cant provide cable tv..kaya wala silang choice kundi manood ng cheap at lousy shows ng GMA

Class A na pala ngayon ang mga skwater people na tulad mo???kelan pa teh??hahah

may class A pala na wala man lang accounts sa mga social networking sites??worst is walang Personal computers at nagrerent lang sa net cafe gaya mo????hahah..class A na pala ang mga ganyan??

Class A ba ang tumatanggap ng sardinas at noodles kapalit ng panonood ng gma shows???hahah

class A na pala ang walang pambayad ng cable TV kaya GMA shows lang pinapanood kasi yun yung may malinaw na reception???

majority of people from mega manila are poor and squatters..kaya pala lamang dun GMA, no wonder!!

Hai nako..sa mga artista nalang basihan ang ratings kung sinong mga artista ang mas sikat at maraming commitments..

Tingnan nyo yang Marian Rivera na sinasabing reyna nang GMA..wala nang commercials natanggal na yong mga commercials niya kasi naman super maldita at walang modo..

Tularan mo kaya sila Bea Alonzo, Angle Locsin, Kim Chui, Anne Curtis at iba pang Kapamilya..

Yang mga artistang yan ang pinapanood nang marami kasi magagaling..so means they're KAPAMILYA so ABS-CBN ang number one..period.
