ABS-CBN Corporation and its subsidiaries dominated the realm of local Media in 2010 as it ruled all sectors! In television ABS-CBN's Channel 2 lead the television ratings nationwide making it the most watched and most profitable local channel beating GMA Network and the highly capitalized TV5. Its sister channel Studio 23 is also doing well in the 4th place nationwide leaving QTV and threathening TV5. In movies Star Cinema held the record of the most prolific film outfit with more than P1B in gross revenues and over 14 produced and co-produced films. In Music Star Records dominated the list of top 10 selling albums last year. Jovit Baldivino’s “Faithfully” owned the top spot while Piolo Pascual’s “Decades 1”, Willie Revillame’s “Ikaw Na Nga,” “I-Star” Anniversary album and Juris’ “Now Playing” landed on the third, fourth, fifth and sixth spots, respectively.
In paid TV, Sky Cable remains to be the largest Cable TV provider in the Philippines with growing subscribers driven from its affordable promos. The Filipino Channel also remians unfaczed by competition as it mainteained the lead with more than 2 million subscription world wide. The Kapamilya Network also conquered the Magazine industry as it raked the most number of sold magazines for 2010. The world of FM Radio also fell to the kapamilya Domination as DZMM remained to be the highest rating FM radio Mega Manila. Star Magic talents were the most celebrated artists of 2010 with lots of succesful concerts abroad, movies and teleseryes. Truly, the Philippines remain to be a kapamilya country.
