TV NETWORK WAR FINANCIAL ANALYSIS: GMA-7 VS ABS-CBN!

To give a detailed and more meaningful comparisons about  the Networks' current financial standing we came up with a brief presentation highlighting significant indicators.
Net Income 

For the third quarter alone ABS-CBN increased its bottom line by 26% to P630M from P500 recorded the same period last year. This is opposite from GMA's 26% drop in net income year-on-year to P583. For the 9-month period the Kapamilya Network netted P2.9B, up by almost  60% from rival's 2.26B. For all three quarters of the year ABS-CBN out matched the Kapuso Network with P1.11B, P1.15B and P0.63B compared to P0.86B, P0.83B and P0.58B  netted by GMA Network.



Airtime Revenue

Other than than total ad minutes, airtime revenue is the best indicator to measure how much advertisers trust the programs offered by the Networks. This will indicate which ratings, provided by TNS and AGB provides more interest and credibility for the advertisers. For the 9 month period ABS-CBN accumulated a total of P16.9B, 67% better than the combined airtime revenue of GMA Network amounting to P10.1B. Ad Sales of Channel 2 alone already reached more than P14B, P5B better than channel 7's P9.26B in total gross sales.



Gross Revenues

As a more diversified conglomerate which has a significant stake in thedirect selling business, ABS-CBN Corporation, ridicules rival with a whooping P27B consolidated income, more than double the earnings of rival network with P10.9B consolidated earnings. ABS-CBN's gross income was up by 35% year-on-year  which is  attributed to the strong financial performance of channel 2 that constitutes more than 60% of the total Revenue. GMA Network likewise enjoyed a 13% increase year-on-year reflecting the impact of political advertisements amounting to P1.8B. However growth was offset by a 26% decrease in net income incurred in the third quarter of the year.


After almost a decade,at last  ABS-CBN Corp. out performed its fiercest  rival GMA Network in profit making! This after a hostile take over of TV Ratings dominance in Mega Manila early this year.

if you dont believe agb mega manila rating, eh dapat hindi ka rin maniniwala sa tns rating dahil diba may may tns mega manila rin...tignan mo yung tns mega manila rating, diba gma ang panalo,,,at saka i dont care sa mga advertiser na yan dahil para silang tanga, eh diba maraming kapamilyucks stars ang may commercial na hindi sikat....

at saka sa net income na sinasabi mo- hindi po lugi ang companya kundi binebase lang nila kung ano ang kinita nila ngayon compare last year.....

they do, pero from the start, inemphasize na ng channel 2 na they give more importance to the NATIONAL.. importante din ang mega manila, pero take note, MORE IMPORTANCE...
that's what ABS believes at least, iba ang opinyon ng gma7 at agb..

pero ang point nung unang nagcomment i guess is in terms of MINUTES, bumaba ang gma7, pero in terms of INCOME, tumaas pa din kahit papano kasi nagtaas sila ng ad rates di ba?

compare them quarterly, mas mataas ang abs2..
its simple..
oo mataas ang ratings ng GMA7..
BUT IT DOESNT TRANSLATE TO SALES PARA SA ADVERTISERS...
this is the main reason why advertisers PLACE MORE ADS sa abs-cbn...

un nga ang masaklap eh, mas gugustuhin pa ng advertisers na kumuha ng hindi artista kesa sa mga starlets ng gme. at least, di sila kailangang magbayad pa ng mejo malaki para sa mga starlets ng gme tapos ang ending eh waley na waley sa sales kasi unknown ang mga stralets na nakuha nila.

at least pag abs stars, siguradong havey na havey ang sales. at ang mga di artista, havey na havey pa rin kasi di na kailangang magbayad ng tf na malaki.

bottomline is pag,

ABS stars - havey na havey sa sales kahit mahal ang TF
Di artista - havey na havey kasi low TF
GME starlets - waley na waley kasi mas mahal ang TF sa di artista pero waley na waley sa sales nyahahaha

yan ba ang GAUGE nang pagiging "wagi" nang isang corporation, ang walang utang "kuno"? in that case, talo pa nang gma7 ang SM, Ayala corporation, Microsoft company, etc.! it's IRONIC kasi wala man lang sa katiting ang gma7 sa mga nabanggit ko! bwahahaha!

granted that you are supporting either of the two networks (ABS-CBN & GMA, gusto nyo sali nyo na din TV5), i guess that won't affect so much of your personal life..
unless you're holding something to their companies..

remember, conglomerated and
ABS-CBN kaya ganun na lang kayaman ang LOPEZes.. GROUP OF COMPANIES nga eh..
ang GMA naman hindi pa 'to conglomorated.kakaunti lang ang partnership nila and they do not belong YET in a group of companies..
kaya hindi na rin siguro masisisi kung mas maaattract ang advertisers sa ABS dahil mas marami silang kompanyang kasapi..

tutal nag-aaway-away na lang din naman dito tungkol sa mga echos na kinikita ng mga tv networks sa bansa eh baka naman pwede nyong pagtalunan ang kinikita nila when it comes to importing Korean dramas.
as in comparisons ng mga kinikita nila like from 2001-2009.. like that..and kung totoo nga bang kumikita sila o echos lang din toh..
