It seems that TV5 is following GMA's previous strategies on attracting tv viewers! It can be remembered that GMA started to eat up the audience pie when it focused on producing comedy related programs and claiming it self as the comedy center of philippine TV. Then they introduced Reality programs like star Struck and Extra challenge which eventually resulted in an overwhelming victory in the ratings war. And now it seems that TV5 is following these footsteps in the hope of entering the mainstream TV Advertising Market, after producing a number of sitcoms and gag shows. And now TV5 engages it self n producing reality Star search, the STAR FACTOR!
TV5’s upcoming reality-based star search Star Factor will be formally launched this Sunday, July 25, with day-long auditions to be held at SM Mall of Asia’s Music Hall (from 10am-9pm). Screening showbiz hopefuls aged 13-18 years old, Star Factor will be on the lookout for potential teen idols who have the total package of good looks, exceptional talent and charm, and the all-important star quality.
Star Factor will be hosted by actress-host-model Ruffa Gutierrez, who herself is the epitome of what stardom is all about. Not only will she serve as a role model for the show’s would-be contestants, she will be a big sister, mentor and friend to them as well.
Aside from the young showbiz aspirants who will be undergoing various challenges to prove their rightful claim to stardom, Star Factor also showcases a panel of judges who are experts in the field of show business and who all have the eye for true star potential.
The Star Makers (Star Factor’s panel of judges) are composed of actor-director and Talent 5 head Audie Gemora as the chairman, with writer-director Joey Reyes, ace fashion photographer Raymond Isaac, music icon Mr. Ryan Cayabyab, and talent manager Ms. Annabelle Rama.
