With only P1.9M in the first week of screening, according to Box-Office Mojo, the highly budgeted Musical Film is set to incur a roughly P40M net loss by the end of its run! The Chito Roño movie failed to attract filipino viewers despite the overwhkeming support of the Kapuso Network and the Cultural Arts Society of the Philippines. Although a lot of people who have seen the movie praised the film, not much of the movie fanatics showed interest in the film. Emir is produced by Film Development Council of the Philippines together with the Cultural Center of the Philippines and Viva Films.

"Emir" staff did not plan for its promotion. Only if they tapped the most influential media, it could have earned more.
Take a look at "Noy", a low-budgeted indie film produced by CineMedia and distributed by Starcinema, it earned PhP9M. Considering that it is an indie film. Too high for such category.
Kahit ako di interesadong panoorin ang Emir! Kung si Sarah Geronimo siguro or any Kapamilya singer yung mga bida ok pa sana! We know andun si Jong pero kulang pa rin siya! Di pa kasi kilala si Franceska Farr, kahit yung contest na pinanalunan niya!
kaya tigilan na ng ibang station jan na ang pag claim na cla daw leading station sa bansa...alam naman ng lahat kung cno ang true leader...kht indie film bsta ABS nagdala, kikita (like what they did with KIMIDORA
