TV5'S GAME 'NA GO ALL SET TO ENTER THE NOONTIME BATTLE!

During one of the breaks of the video shoot for TV5's newly launched game show, Game 'N Go, hosts Arnel Ignacio, Edu Manzano and Pretty Triszia recalled their experiences in riding the MRT.

Triszia, with his funny narration, jokingly recalled how some commuters would call out to him, “Gellicious!” and how they would also act out the former show's signature gesture.

Edu, looking sharp in his striped attire, narrated an incident where he was mobbed by eager fans excited to see a celebrity riding a train. Everyone, including the staff, listened and laughed at their stories.

Tuesday Vargas, one of the seven hosts of Game 'N Go, certified the closeness of all the hosts, saying that they are working on the show as if they’re just playing. "Nung nakita ko yung line-up, naaliw ako kasi gaya nga ng sabi ni Arnel nung trade launch, parang barkada kayo na nagkukuwentuhan lang sa living room at nahahawa yung mga tao sa kasiyahan ninyo. Para kayong magkakaibigan na nakaka-infect yung energy," she said. Tuesday added that she was inspired in doing the show because she’s working with seasoned game show hosts while having fun on the set. "Easy lang yung atmosphere kasi nasasabihan din sila ng normal na bagay," she shared.

Edu, who has hosted several game shows before Game 'N Go, also looks forward to working with the rest of the team. In fact, it was his first time meeting his co-host Valenzuela City councilor Shalani Soledad-Romulo.

The game show master says he admires the skills of the former Wiltime Bigtime host. "I just met her, as a matter of fact. At sa tingin ko eh kahit tumulo yung bahay niya dahil sa isang bagyo, nakangiti pa rin. On the other hand, all the other game masters, from Tuesday na mataas ang respeto ko dahil she's very funny, Gelli de Belen, Pretty Triszia, si Wendy na ngayon ko lang makakatrabaho rin, and of course si Arnel na para ko nang kapatid yan—talagang nabuo nila yung mga taong tested and proven," he said.

Edu isn’t the only co-host charmed by Shalani. Even Arnel Ignacio, also an old-timer to game shows, expressed his excitement in working with Shalani. "Looking forward ako na makatrabaho si Shalani kasi ako naman, hindi laging kailangan na kung energetic ako ay enegetic din yung kasama ko. Hahanap ako kung paano magiging entertaining yung tandem namin," he said.

Arnel also bragged about a unique characteristic of the host-cum-councilor. "Ang isa talaga sa uniquely Shalani na tatak, pag binigyan mo siya ng line and when she starts to deliver the line, kahit na patayin mo lahat ng camera, itutuloy niya yung linya na yun," he added.

Award-winning actress Gelli de Belen, a first-time game show host, admitted feeling pressured, but not in overtaking rivals in the noontime slot. "I have a lot of pressure right now, pero hindi namin pakay na tibagin kung anuman ang nandiyan. Gusto lang naming magkaroon ng pwesto."

Tuesday also stressed that the team is aware of the tight competition in the ratings game among noontime shows in the big networks but said that Game 'N Go will focus instead on serving an alternative to lunchtime viewing.

Edu said that pressure helps them to improve the quality of the show. By imposing pressure on themselves, he shared, they feel obliged to do better.

Shalani said she’s ready to take on the show especially since she’s been trained in one of the best TV shows, referring to primetime show Wiltime Bigtime with host Willie Revillame. She added, "Yung mga natutunan ko sa dati kong show, maisasama ko dito.”

Regarding the show's features, the hosts said that viewers should expect surprises but gave a glimpse of what's in store for the audience. Tuesday mentioned a singing segment while Shalani said that Game 'N Go will be visiting different barangays all over the country to give away cash prizes.

Game 'N Go premieres on March 17, Saturday, and will be aired Mondays to Saturdays at 11:30 AM on TV5.
