TNS NAGLABAS NA RIN NG MEGA MANILA AT NATIONAL PEOPLE RATINGS!

Its quite a shock that TNS Phlippines now decides to release PEOPLE RATINGS rather than the traditonal Household Ratings. It can be remembered that rival survey firm AGB Nielsen started releasing Individual Ratings for Mega Manila a year ago, while TNS continued the release of its traditonal Household National Urban Ratings. GMA Network, one of AGB's subscriber, explained that People Ratings brings more meaning and value to the advertisers, hence it is just to give it emphasis. And with TNS joining rival in support of the People Rating System  does this mean that advertisers really prefer Individual Ratings more than the Household Ratings? Is the People Meter System really more reliable than household ratings? Below is the statement released by TNS Phillippines.

As of January 2011, we will be making use of Individual Program ratings instead of household ratings.

Ratings for a particular day will only be up for 24 hours, after which it will be replaced with the next day's ratings.

Note that the daily program ratings are based on day-after ratings information and are subject to slight changes upon reprocessing for improved sample sizes and validation after every week.

For reference, unit used is INDIVIDUAL ratings. Ratings are defined as such: The audience in thousands of a period, divided by the universe of the target worked on. This is different from audience share, which is defined as: The proportion of average audience of a channel in percentage contrasted with the audience of total television in percentage. Please take care not to confuse the two, as they have very different calculations.

Daytime refers to shows that fall within the time band of 0500h to 1800h; primetime refers to shows within the 1801h to 2400h time band. In cases where a program breaches the borderline, it is considered to fall within the time band where the majority of the program minutes are located.

  17. @anon

parang stock excahnge makikita mo what shows are up, and what shows are down.

AGB Nielsen is not credible ang tagal tagal ko ng sinsabi sa inyo, ayaw nyu maniwala, mas maganda ang ratings sa Japan alos fair lahat.
