GMA-7 BOOKED P7B AD COMMITMENTS FOR 2011! EX[PECTS REVENUES TO EXCEED P13B!

GMA Network Inc. has booked over P7 billion worth of advertisement contracts this year and expects revenues to breach the P13-billion mark registered last year.

“By December of last year, we have already booked over P7 billion worth of ads for this year from 10 big advertisers. This is already more than half of our target revenues for 2011,” GMA Network chairman and chief executive Felipe Gozon told reporters at the sidelines of GMA News TV channel launch late Monday.

“For the first time, we started negotiating [for the following year’s ads] as early as November,” he said.

Ten advertisers with big volume accounts signed up with GMA in December last year, he said. He added that one major advertiser that boycotted the network went back and signed a bigger contract. He did not name the account.

Gozon said the network would again increase its advertising rates in March to make them at par with rival ABS-CBN Corp.

“I don’t want to sell any more ads below Channel 2’s price,” he said. “We are very optimistic with Channel 7. We have booked very good revenue figures for January and for the first few days of February,” he said.

Gozon said that Channel 7 had maintained a small lead in nationwide ratings and a comfortable lead in Mega Manila and Luzon.

GMA Network posted over P2.8 billion in net income last year, up 2 percent year-on-year but short of the company’s initial target of P3 billion. Revenues reached P13 billion in 2010.

To the readers....Any IDEA?

Ad rates depends on the time slots and kinds of programs.

For example, morning programs are 60-80% cheaper than evening programs.

In daytime Animated or Cartoon related programs are also cheaper than morning talk shows.

The highest ad rates are for programs aired during prime time. A 30 second ad costs around P450,000.

    ABS-CBN is 5-10% more expensive than GMA-7.

Both Networks, however give discounts for large advertisers. These are package deals aimed at boosting ad volume.

Search this blog for GMA's ad rate. Then for ABS-CBN just increase GMA's ad rate by 5-10%.

    Weekdays

    Unang Hirit = P105, 600

    Shaman King, Doreamon, Etc, = P89, 430

    Love ni Mr/Mrs. = P124, 300

    Asar Talo/ Afternoon Programs = P137,170

    Korean Afternoon Dramas = P131, 560

    Bantatay (6:30 pm to 7pm) = P274, 450

    Primetime Progams = P475, 200

    Saksi = P 303, 600

    Iwitness/Reporters Notebook = P161,920

Noteworthy these rates are for a 30 sec. advertisement. For a 15 sec. advertisement the amount is multiplied by 0.6 or 60% of the standard rate, while for a 45 sec and a 60 sec ad the rate is multiplied by 1.5 and 2.0 respectively.

    simple..

but if you check CONSISTENCY, pansinin mo, hindi bumababa ang ad loads..

  23. Another praise release of Mr Gozon!!! GMA trying to set the mind of madlang people especially the stock holder of GMA that the station is improving in terms of income!!!

From your article - "GMA Network Inc. has booked over P7 billion worth from advertisers", booked means just part of the projectons and it can be pulled out kung hindi mag-click ang inyong shows and the quality of shows are not improving.

I don't think that GMA will have a positive income this year because of the transition of QTV to GMA News Channel, the station will spend atleast certain amount as capital to start new shows.

The Status of GMA right now is crucial, they need to produce shows na hindi magpa-flop, pero nag u-umpisa na.

    Just my opinion.......

  24. Star magic Talents Soar High As Endorsers!!!!

Have you noticed? Star Magic talents are now the dominant endorsers of major fast-food chains/restaurants in the country: Kim for Chowking, Gerald for McDonald's, Enchong and Sam Concepcion for Jollibee, Piolo Pascual for Max's, Diether Ocampo for Pizza Hut and John Lloyd Cruz for Greenwhich.

    ReplyDelete
  29. korek...abscbn fans lubog na istasyon nyo.kahit ano gawin nyo taon taon uutang at uutang pa rin yan hanggang 3010.

  30. Hihirit pa juskooooo

    Ang tatanga

The loan will be used to pay existing debt of bayantel and not abs-cbn..

Additionally, abs-cbn will use part of the amount for upgrade and expansion..

One thing is for sure, at barado kayo, having a loan doesn't mean lugi ang kumpanya, but rather, shows ur dominance in the business..
