ABS-CBN TOTAL AD MINUTES UP BY 54%! GMA-7 DOWN BY 15%!

The Lopez lead local channel ABS-CBN had enjoyed a total ad minutes upswing of 54% in the third quarter of the year! The Kapamilya channel accumulated a sum of  28,054 ad minutes from July to September  up by more than 9,000 year-on-year from 18,214 of 2009. The increased sales, at the back of higher ad rates implemented early this year, will surely boost the bottom line of the company making  it on track of its year end target of P3B Net Income. 

Meanwhile rival GMA Network suffered a 15% drop in total ads volume in spite of an industrywide  increase in total ad minutes of around 14%, as big advertisers returns. TV5 on the other hand also enjoyed an increase in ad sales thanks to the improved performance in the ratings game. GMA Network disclosed that the decrease in ad minutes for the quarter is attributed to the hike in the advertising rates and absence of non-recurring gains. Advertising Revenues of the kapuso Network was down 10% while net earnings shrank 26% year-on-year. Third Quarter ads ratio betweeen ABS-CBN and GMA-7 stood 5:4 in favor of the Kapamilya Network.
