TVNETWORKWAR: GMA-7 ADVERTISING RATES AT A GLANCE!

One of the most debated issue in the realm of NETWORK WAR in the Philippines is the price at which Media Giants like ABS-CBN and GMA Network are imposing on their programs. Well a lot of discussions suggests, ABS-CBN, having higher ad rates than rivals GMA-7 and TV5, which eventually was validated the by Kapuso Channel's President and CEO himself, Atty. Gozon in an interview by Philippine Entertainment Portal. But there has been no clear figure as to how much the differences are especially on prime time for which 70%  of the advertising revenues are sourced. 

Luckily after rigorous research, TVNETWORKWAR, was able to find  the validated rate card of GMA-7 for the standard commercial airtime (30 sec.) These are the actual ad rates of the network for its regular advertisers (as of 2009). But the actual cost might be lower due to some promotional and package deals the network is offering for big advertisers like Unilever, P & G and Nestle. We, however, are still on the look out for any possible source to disclose ABS-CBN's actual ad rates.

Noteworthy these rates are for a 30 sec. advertisement. For a 15 sec. advertisement the amount is multiplied by 0.6 or 60% of the standard rate, while for a 45-second and a 60-second ad the rate is multiplied by 1.5 and 2.0 respectively. But most of the TV advertisements nowadays runs for only 15 second.

Hence to translate this into actual accounts, Survivor Phils which normally has around 40 ads, has a daily revenue of about P11.4M and while an afternoon program like Koreana  which has 40 ads will have a daily income of around P3.3M.
