As expected Survivor Philippines topped the Mega Manila TV ratings with a whooping 18.2% Peoples Ratings. It beat NOAH by more than 35% audience number on its Pilot Episode helping Illumina to land third with 13.8%. 24 Oras was also blessed with Survivor's popularity as it landed second Monday evening with 15.3%, however the Marian Rivera starrer Endless Love wasn't fortunate enough as it lost to Magkaribal landing 8th overall. Meanwhile in the National level NOAH remains unfazed with Survivor's arrival in the competition as it maintains its no.1 spot in the evening rankings closely followed by Agua Bendita and TV Patrol World. Survivor Phils landed fourth beating Magkaribal Nationwide. This is an achievement for the kapuso network as GMA evening programs rarely makes it on Top 5.

Jay G. Bautista, AC Nielsen executive director, said the strong performance of the economy is the one factor of the rising media spending. "They are confident that consumers can buy a certain product," he explained.
Jerico Barrera, AC Nielsen associate director, however, noted that the gap in the advertising level between television and radio is a function of cost per spot.
Barrera added that 60 percent of the total advertising money invested by advertisers in radio campaigns is in Metro Manila. "If we look at each area, advertising expenditure in the Visayas are growing faster than the other areas," he pointed out.

SPENDING on advertisement of hair and telecommunication products on television dropped in the first quarter of this year, the Nielsen Co.’s media spending highlights report revealed.
Still, ad spending on shampoo, rinse, treatment and hairdressing products led the top 10 categories, with spending hitting nearly P3.5 billion in January to March this year.
Communication and telecommunication products followed as the second highest among the top 10 categories with P2.749 billion spent during the quarter, dropping only a percent from the P2.781 billion Nielsen recorded in the same period last year.
Hair products dropped 11 percent from the P3.932 billion spent on advertising in January to March 2008.
The biggest drop at 12 percent, however, came from dentifrices, mouthwash and toothbrush products, from P1.418 billion in ad spending during the first quarter of last year.
The drop in ad spending for hair products could have come from the decrease in the spending of Colgate-Palmolive Philippines Inc. and Unilever Philippines Inc. that posted a -22 percent and -1 percent, respectively.
Colgate-Palmolive’s spending for the first quarter dropped to P1.484 billion from P1.913 billion in the same period last year.
Top television advertiser Unilever, on the other hand, spent P0.52-billion less during the quarter compared with the P4.046 billion it spent in the same period last year.
Both Smart Communications Inc. and Globe Telecom Inc. hiked their television-advertising spending in the first quarter to P0.515 billion (up 12 percent) and P0.471 billion (up 14 percent), respectively.
Mister Donuts Philippines recorded the biggest growth in ad spending on television by 332 percent to P0.321 billion from just P0.074 billion in the first quarter of last year, the report sent to reporters last week revealed.
The highest growth in ad spending came from chocolate and soya bean drinks category to P0.636 billion, up 78 percent from P0.358 billion in the first quarter of last year.
Nielsen said its ad-spending information was taken from monitoring of 19 TV channels, 111 radio stations in 15 areas nationwide, 25 newspapers and 53 magazines.
Television remains the top media, taking up 90 percent of consumption, the report highlights. This is followed by radio (68 percent) and the Internet (30 percent).
Newspapers are consumed by only 16 percent of Nielsen’s survey base, trailing Cable TV (21 percent) and VCD/DVD (25 percent). Television also commands a 76-percent share in media spending, followed by radio (19 percent) and print (5 percent).
However, media spending via radio increased dramatically by 32 percent during the first quarter compared with the same period last year. Media spending on print continued to post a drop: -11 percent versus the first quarter of last year.
Advertising minutes on radio also zoomed by 26 percent as against the 4-percent increase on TV.
Personal-care products still top overall ad spending (all media) for the first quarter, followed by food and beverage.

those people like galileo and einstein, they contradict the majority, look at the objects differently, dig deeper. people like them, some died for contradicting and going against the majority, those are the people who contributed so much kaya we have what we have and we are what we are right now.

wak na kau mag-away kc no way na manonood kme ng NOAH wahaha.. di kme magtsatsaga sa tinipid na show tpos copycat pah sa jungle book.. abangan n lng mamaya ang survivor magsisimula na ang kauna-unahang challenge tsaka malalaman na den kung cno magkakatribo.. kya tutok lng! sa mga ayaw eh magtsaga n lng kau sa NOAH nio basta pagkaka-alam ko ang survivor ang show isang beses sa isang taon na hindi dpat pinapalagpas.. two consecutive days nag trend sa twitter san ka pah.. at malamang after ng show mamaya.. 3 consecutive days na! wahahaha kc c andi, chocolate tsaka willy cuevas.. isa sa mga dhilan kung bket nagtrend survivor sa twitter eh.. wahaha

GMA signal can reach only in mega manila and urban luzon.. that's why GMA cannot reach the no1 ratings for nationwide.. kaya kahit anong ganda ng show sa GMA d mapanood malabo pag walang cable.. gets nyo???

hoy anung malabo ang signal ng gma? eh mas malinaw pa nga ang reception nyan sa abs eh sa visayas at mindanao dahil nakikiride on sila sa pldt..kaso nga lang hindi utak kamuning o taste like squatters ang mga vismin...kahit anu pang linaw ng gma dito sa amin di na.mean maatem ang jologs at cheap na palabas nyo kaya huwag kang magdahilan jan...hehe huwag kang assuming ok? BTW sabihin mu lang when ka pupunta sa amin ha, baka kasi di ka papapasukin ng guard doon, nang ma inform naman ang guard. Ayus-ayusin mu rin ang pananamit at pagmumukha mu baka kasi mapagkamalan kang mag-aaply ng katulong or suspicious looking person, hindi ka papapasukin ng guard.
