ABS-CBN IS THE MOST AWARDED TV NETWORK!

In the battle for excelent broadcasting and entertainement ABS-CBN is the runaway winner as the students’ choice judging from the number of awards received from different university-award giving bodies. ABS-CBN  earned nearly100 awards from various student award-giving bodies in the country such as the awards received from the University of the Philippines’ Gandingan, University of Santo Tomas’ USTv Awards, St. Dominic College of Asia’s Gawad Tanglaw, and the Northwest Samar State University’s Students’ Choice Awards this year in recognition of its news and entertainment programs, broadcast journalists, and celebrities.

JAPAN WILLING TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE TO THE TV NETWORKS! RELEASE OF IRR MOVED TO JUNE!

MANILA, Philippines - Japan is ready to give the state-run National Broadcasting Network (Channel 4) a $4-million (P174.8-million) grant to help it shift to digital television.

Commissioner Gamaliel Cordoba of the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), announcing this, said Japan said was ready to extend the similar soft loans to other broadcasting firms for the same purpose.

Cordoba said the Japan grant would be spent to buy transmitters, antennas and the like. “Japan just wants to help,” he said.

He said Japan was awaiting the signing of the memorandum of cooperation that would formalize the Philippines’ intent” to adapt Japan’s Integrated Services Digital Broadcast (ISDB) technology as the standard for digital TV.

Xyriel Manabat is set to star in “100 Days,” the Kapamilya network’s upcoming teleserye together with veteran actress Coney Reyes.

Xyriel has established huge following since her breakout role in Agua Bendita followed by Momay and Noah. This is why ABS-CBN is giving her another original teleserye which is part of the network’s “Kapamilya Gold” campaign.

ANATOMY OF A DISASTER BEATS IMORTAL & GREEN ROSE! NARUTO & HITMAN REBORN FAILS!

Richard Guttierez's Anatomy of a disaster won the first night battle against Imortal and Green Rose in Mega Manila as indicated in AGB Nielsen's People Ratings survey. Anatomy scored 10.5% up against Imortal's 10% and Green Rose's 6.7%. But ABS-CBN's Mara Clara retained the leadership with 15.8% closely followed by Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin 13.7% and Mutya 13.5%. 24 Oras recoverd from its lost last Friday as it zoomed 14.2% on Monday making it no.2 in the nightly rankings.

TV-5 PINABAGSAK ANG ABS-CBN SA HAPON! GMA-7 NO.1 PARIN!

Tinalo ng TV-5 ang ABS-CBN noong Sabado sa Mega Manila People Ratings ng AGB Nielsen! Pumalo sa 23% audience share ang TV-5 na mas mataas sa 17% na nakuha ng ABS-CBN. Nanguna parin ang GMA-7 na may 40% audience share sa hapon dahil sa taas ng rating ng Eat Bulaga na umabot sa 12.9% oh halos 60% audience share. Nagwagi ang Willing Willie at TV5 SinePlex laban sa Failon Ngayon, Kapamilya Movies at Elive ng ABS-CBN. 

VICE GANDA PINATAOB ANG TWEEN HEARTS!

Si Vice Ganda lang pala ang makakatalo sa hit teen oriented sunday program ng siete na Tween Hearts! Pumalo sa 4.9% ang Your Song noong linggo habang 4.7% naman ang nakuha ng Tween Hearts Boracay special. Nagtabla ang ABS-CBN at GMA-7 sa Hapon na parehong nakakuha ng 4.6% average people ratings. Sa gabi naman, humataw sa ratings ang Pilipinas Got Talent na nakakuha ng 13% people ratings, malayo sa 7.5% at 6.9%na nakuha ng mga kalabang programa. Naging hit din ang The Sharon Cuneta Specials na umabot sa 7.1% habang bigo naman ang Sunday's Best ni Christian na nakatala lamang ng 2.15 laban sa Batman Forever ng GMA na may 4.6%. Panalo ang GMA-7 sa early Primetime, late night at moning slots habang hinawakan ng ABS-CBN ang late prime time viewing.

GRETCHEN BARETO AT ANGELICA PANGANIBAN MAGTUTUOS NA SA "ALTA!" AABANGAN MO BA?

Angelica Panganiban and Gretchen Bareto are set to make a face-off on primetime TV with a new teleserye titled "Alta" together with  KC Concepcion, Zanjoe Marudo, and Sam Milby. Gretchen shared that Alta is set to begin taping after the Holy Week and is tentatively scheduled to air by June.

Last year Angelica and Gretchen were caught under a controversy as Gretchen shares the lime light with Angelica's boyfriend in one of ABS-CBN's hottest prime time offering, "Magkaribal". Kapamilya fans then anticipate a joint project between Gretchen and Angelica that will surely fire-up the evening of Kapamilya viewers!
