ABS-CBN'S MARKET VALUE NOW MORE THAN DOUBLE THAN GMA NETWORK!

ABS-CBN's market value continues to soar as its diversification program gravitates attention from investors. The Media giant's market capitalization as of February 20, 2015 stood P53.17 billion, more than double the size of rival GMA Network, which saw its market value whittle to P21.11 billion. Local and foreign investors salivate with the Kapamilya Networks' foray into other businesses while maintaining its industry leadership on its traditional business.

DUAVIT RESIGNS AS GMA'S BOARD MEMBER

In a disclosure to the Philippine Stocks Exchange (PSE), GMA Network Inc. announced the resignation of one of its Directors. Judith Vasquez has ceded her position in the board of directors to make way for her other business venture. Vasquez is a member of the Duavit family, one of the three controlling families of the Media giant.

ABS-CBN MOBILES AIMS BREACH 3 MILLION SUBSCRIBERS BY END 2015!

MANILA – ABS-CBNmobile, the mobile arm of ABS-CBN Corp., is looking to increase its subscriber base to 3 million this year, double the number of subscribers it had at the end of 2014.

ABS-CBNmobile initially set a target of 2 million subscribers to break even, but ABS-CBN Access head Carlo Katigbak said the target was raised due to a decline in average revenue per user (ARPU).

“We have quite a challenge this year. I think our goal is to bring this up to about 3 million customers, double to where we came from at the end of last year,” he said.

ABS-CBN UNVEILS THE FIRST DTT SERVICE IN THE PHILIPPINES!

MANILA – ABS-CBN ushered in a new era in Philippine television with the launch of its new digital service on Wednesday.

ABS-CBN TVplus, popularly known as “The Mahiwagang Black Box,” was unveiled by executives of the media conglomerate led by its chairman Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III, and president and chief executive Charo Santos-Concio in a ceremonial switch-on event held inside the ABS-CBN compound in Quezon City.

Lopez said digital terrestrial TV (DTT) is a major investment of ABS-CBN, calling it “the future of TV” and “the biggest innovation on free TV today.”
