SAM PINTO OUTSHINES ANGEL & MARIAN IN FHM'S SEXIEST!

This is definitely more than just sheer luck.

The same time last year, Sam Pinto has set a new perspective for sexiness as she won the title of the FHM Sexiest Woman in the World 2011.

As most people have already expected on this year’s poll, Sam joins the ranks of Katrina Halili and Angel Locsin as one of the prestigious celebrities to win the coveted title twice.

In the partial and unofficial results released last May, Angel Locsin led the poll for two straight weeks as Sam found herself in second place.

But at the tail-end of the poll, Sam rose to the top spot as Angel dropped to second place.

Solenn Heussaff, Cristine Reyes, and Marian Rivera landed third, fourth, and fifth spots, respectively.

ARA MINA AYAW TANGGAPIN ANG SORRY NI CRISTINE!

Ara Mina says she found the public apology Cristine Reyes issued on “The Buzz” on Sunday lacking in remorse and sincerity.

It won’t move her to withdraw the libel and grave coercion suit she filed against her half-sister in April over allegedly vulgar text messages Cristine had sent her during Holy Week.

They may dispute each other's rankings, but when it comes to executive compensation, ABS-CBN is definitely way, way ahead of competing GMA Network.

ABS-CBN reported Thursday that it paid chief executive and child of owner Eugenio "Gabby" Lopez III and its four highest officers nearly P233.4 million last year, which works out to an average of P46.6 million each.

Lopez's charmed circle includes president Ma. Rosario Santos-Concio, Roldeo Theodore Endrinal, Rolando Valdueza and Ma. Socorro Vidanes.

KUNG AKO'Y IIWAN MO DETHRONES EB, NOW NO.1 IN DAYTIME!

After a long time after Wowowee's demise, ABS-CBN has regained leadership in Daytime as Kung Ako'y Iiwan Mo zoomed to the NO.1 spot in Kantar Media's National Urban Survey. The Kapamilya Afternoon drama has out raced the mighty Eat Bulaga by 1 percentage point last June 25, placing EB down by one notch. Other Kapamilya Programs also saw their numbers rise as three kapamilya programs occupy slots in the top 5 Daytime!

This has proved that GMA's Afternoon Prime is not that invincible  as in-house produced dramas from ABS-CBN are now starting to rise and dominate Daytime, at least in the National Level.

JULIA-KATHRYN TANDEM HITS A PHENOMENAL 40% MARK!

The Mara Clara lead stars Julia Montes and Katrhyn Bernardo are now held as ABS-CBN's most  bankable stars as their respective prime time programs, Walang Hanggan and Princess and I , crossed the ever elusive 40% mark  in the National Urban leaving kapuso rivals in the DUST!

Walang Hanggan generated a phenomenal 44.5% rating in Kantar's National Urban Survey almost matching the 46.7% of the Pacman-Bradley match which was considered a national event! This figure was also the highest rating episode this year of any prime time program.

MEL TIANCO TO DOLPHY: "MATIBAY PALA ANG MATANDANG YAN!

NAIMBIYERNA raw ang GMA news management kay Mel Tiangco at ipinatawag ito para pagsabihan sa inasal niya when she interviewed Eric Quizon on air to get updates about the health of Comedy King Dolphy last week.

PIOLO REVEALS TV5'S MULTI-MILLION OFFER TO PIRATE HIM!

MANILA, Philippines – Actor Piolo Pascual revealed he also received feelers from a rival network to leave ABS-CBN. In an interview with YES! Magazine in its July issue, Pascual said he was in talks with No. 3 network TV5, but he made sure to update Star Magic executives Johnny Manahan and Mariole Alberto every step of the way.

Pascual, however, did not disclose as to when these talks with TV5 happened.

“What’s nice about these people is that... kumbaga, yeah they would want me to stay, but they also want you to protect your welfare. They are the type of people na if you want to be released—and they don’t have contracts with any of us—if you want to be released they won’t hold you down. If you’re not happy with us, you can go,” Pascual said of Star Magic.

KIMMY DORA HITS P100 MILLION IN 2 WEEKS!

MANILA, Philippines -- The comedy film "Kimmy Dora and the Temple of Kyeme" has earned P100 million after two weeks in theaters, according to Star Cinema.

The film topbilled by comedienne Eugene Domingo is only the second Filipino film to cross the P100-million mark this year, after John Lloyd and Angel Locsin's "Unofficially Yours" in February.

The sequel has also earned more than the 2009 original, which took in an estimated P81 million during its run, according to data from Box Office Mojo.

RUFFA TO PAPARAZZI: NAPAKABASTOS NYO!

Wala kayong kwenta at wala kayong respeto.”

Patuloy pa niya sa Twitter, The msg from Habitat for Humanity & Ms Faith of Avon Philippines was heartwarming but what happened after that was a disgrace.

Yung head ng PROGRESS Gold Milk of Wyeth was at the studio, my friends were watching.”

Pagkatapos ay inilahad niya, “Binastos ako ng Paparazzi on my birthday. I’m so sorry but THE BUZZ would never do this to me. EVER!”

ABS-CBN IS NOT FOR SALE, LOPEZ

BROADCAST firm ABS-CBN Corp. on Thursday said the company is not for sale amid talks that Ramon S. Ang, president of San Miguel Corp. (SMC), is interested in venturing into the Philippine broadcasting industry.

Eugenio L. Lopez III, chairman and chief executive officer of ABS-CBN, said there are no discussions nor were there any feelers sent by Ang’s group with regards to a possible sale of the TV station.

“Hindi po. ABS-CBN is not for sale,” Lopez said in reply to a question raised by a stockholder during the annual stockholders’ meeting.

Amid the annual who’s-in-who’s-out hubbub created by the release of the Forbes list, two very prominent names in the local and regional business scenes were—to many observers—incredibly absent from the Philippine billionaires’ roster.

Nowhere to be found on the list of the country’s 40 richest individuals are tycoons Ramon S. Ang (RSA) and Manuel V. Pangilinan (MVP) who have been engaged in recent years in a friendly (they claim) competition to outdo each other in buying up whatever company is for sale, both here and abroad.

In a press conference after the company's stockholder's meeting, ABS-CBN chief financial officer Ronaldo Valdueza said, "The increase in operating costs has put a drag on the company's profits", gesturing a modest profit outlook in the first half of 2012.

"There has been significant improvement, but because of the competitive climate, operating costs has been going up. It's no secret we've had to increase our talent fees, which has had a significant impact on our overall profitability. The reality is if we did not have to increase our costs, we would show a significant increase this year... We feel our trajectory is correct and the second half would be significantly better," Lopez said.
ABS-CBN expects its first-half profit growth to be flat, but is still on track to meet its full-year net income target.

"It's close to flat. But we are sticking to our minimum target of P1.3 billion. We are on track for P1.3 billion," ABS-CBN chief financial officer Ronaldo Valdueza said.

Lopez said the second half is going to be "significantly better" than the first half, as the network continues to improve programming.

"It doesn't change what we have to do. We're very focused on our own strategy. The number of channels that we have to compete against remains the same. As far as we're concerned, we just have to execute and we'll be okay," he said, in a press conference after the company's stockholder's meeting.

Ayon sa taga-Star TV, ang Please Be Careful with my Heart ay hindi kapalit ng Magunaw Man ang Mundo kundi ang NBA Finals.

Gozon asserted that he has full trust in the current management team of the Kapuso channel. “Our people are the best in the industry,” he said. “They’re not only tried; they are tested. I would think twice before replacing any of them.”

Lilybeth Rasonable, officer-in-charge of Entertainment TV, quipped: “We’re always tense in GMA 7. We’re used to pressure. We have no time to be bothered about merger rumors.”

GMA's notable ratings improvement on primetime TV opposite ABS-CBN's listless performance from 2011 to partial 2012 (January to May 31; May 27 to 31 based on overnight ratings) drove up GMA's overall showing against its closest competitor's in National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM).

BOY PICK-UP: THE MOVIE FLOPS IN THE BIG SCREEN!

Dapat nung kasagsagan at kasikatan daw ng flip top-inspired battle of words using cheesy pick-up lines ek-ek nila ito ni-release.
